Update to 4.6 may help.

Make sure 5 pin usb is seated properly on the board the red wire is facing away from the board.

If using ATX make sure whatever means you are shorting it is still good.

I have picked up several early version boards from folks that can’t get them up or that did not understand the process to get them working.

I use a similar like cable on the boards I have. Please note I have never bought anything from Aliexpress I am working around an internet filter at my job and it lets me go here and not Ebay.

Also, My miner is down because of my RPi.  So i have decided to try to host with one of my laptops.  I am running windows at the moment,  and have used zadig to get the correct USB driver (I think).   When I try to run CGminer i get this error:

Any help would be much appreciated.   My babyjet has been dead for about a week now.

Have the same problem with the same error. Didn't change something, just rebooted my miner, afterwards I received error , so I don't think its the PSU (also used another and got the same problem). Any ideas?

Windows kind of sucks. Can you guys update CG miner to 4.6? Start CG miner then hotplug the miner. Connect the miner when CG miner is running.

I will have access to on one Monday.  I let a friend borrow it and will grab it from him when I see him on Monday.

Mmk with the board powered on check voltages across the 12V pins on the 6pin connector to gnd(on the 6pin connector). Also what type of psu are you using to power them: atx power supply or a server psu w/breakout board?

Thank you Taugeran for helping me.

My power supply is a Seasonic Platinum 1000 series  (the initial power supply sent to me by Hashfast).  I initially thought it was the power supply and RMAed the supply.  I am having the same issue as before i sent it back, so I am assuming it is not the supply. It has an EATX power connection and I am using the original shorting block that came with the supply from hashfast that is shorting pins 4 to 15.  I tested this with another wire as well and still the same issue.

I also upgraded to CGminer 4.6.0 and received the same issue.

With my DMM I didn't see any voltages over the 6 pin connector on the board though.  Anyone have any ideas?

Seems like most CoolIt pumps are dying prematurely, Has anyone tried cheaper 1150 CPU heatsink ?

These water cooling systems sell for $60+ , phase change heat pipes cooler sell for ~20$ - 30$ but I wonder if they can dissipate 500w even with a high speed fan attached.

I've had many of the water coolers die on these units. I would guess it has a lot to do with the cold plate being in the same small housing as the impeller and motor. Running at a couple hundred watts on a CPU and getting to 60C on the die is one thing; dissipating 600W and directly contacting a die at 100C+ is another thing entirely.

You can use an air cooler, though you might have to downclock or downvolt. You will reach the limit of the ability of the heat pipes to transfer heat, so at a certain point more airflow won't lower temperatures.

Have you, yourself, tried cooling a HF board with heat pipes ?

Kind of. I've used heatpipe based cooler on my Habanero boards and have some hooked up right now, and they work well up to a point. There's no physical reason you couldn't transport kW of heat with a heat pipe, but common CPU coolers aren't really designed for that.

With reduced clocks they're more than useable though. I have a Hyper 212 Evo on a Habanero running at 400MHz with the stock fan running inaudibly at 25% and 77C, and it's getting 0.71J/GH at the wall.

Whats the Brand/model heatsink you used? Do you think it would have been ok with the stock fan?

Also, I saw in your pictures you were drilling out the old bracket screw sockets. I have found those can be pushed through relatively easily most of the time. Maybe the few I messed with were just not attached well?

I spend about 10 min with a heatgun and board bending forces and it wouldn't want to come off.

As I said it's an old Corsair A50, I've ordered many heatsink and will report on those, I think Hyper 212 EVO for arround 30$ will do the best job, I will try this one with stock fan. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rr212e20pkr2

Does anybody know where I could get the last version of the rPI firmware updating image ?

I have Sierras myself. Not sure if theres a heatsink that can fit in the limited height and could still keep it at a temp under 96C with regular room temps.

Remove the top board and you'll be good, BTW one PSU can run two board.

Does anyone happen to have a HashFast RasPi image in bz2 form that's they'd like ot share with me.  I need to rebuild one of my RasPi units and I noticed the HashFast site no longer has the Pi image.  PM me if you happen to have an image and I'll give you an email address where you can email said image.  Many thanks.
