Does anyone chart the progress of ETH price in either USD or BTC.   Im interested in opinions on its progress, seems to have gone sideways a while but Im not sure its following any kind of trend

I heard Vitalik described as a bit of a genius recently, hence they were bullish on ETH rather then BTC.   Its not clear to me which crypto would be most successful but compared to previous years I do think 2017 is a bit different in its progress not being just a rush of speculation but also actual rising volume.

  At some point every coin will be tested for its true worth, dollar being weak this year gives a false dynamic.  I think we could have rough seas in future years requiring a well built infrastructure, hopefully BTC and ETH are both progressing towards that regardless of price discussion etc

Yeah ! A decentralized exchange and social platform is both a good environment for developing the community and a good protection against hacking.
Hope the idea won't transform into some floppy code again. But at least we can trust the team to have some technical background.

Ethereum is a solid project for APP creation but it really doesn't match the security that Bitcoin provides.

So while storing large wealth in Bitcoin is ok, I would not store a large wealth in ETH. But I would invest in ETH tokens that look promising, there is a quite decent market out there with things like VERITASEUM there will be a lot of innovation in the fintech sector.

Making Ethereum scale is of the utmost importance since the network suffers from quite a few issues that need addressing. This, however, is much easier said than done. Sharding may be the best solution for Ethereum in its current state, although it may take a lot of time until we see the real benefits of this technology.
