ETH is looking slightly weaker than BTC or LTC. But as long as we can stay above the $165 area which is the yearly resistance and prior year support, then we are in good shape.

I think unless BTC itself goes parabolic again and we get a BGD with another $1000 gain then ETH won't move past $200 anytime soon.

Really surprised that even BCH is outpacing the ETH price. No idea what is dragging it down, maybe its the ICOs selling their ETHs.

I would recommend dumping all your Ethereum and buying Litecoin. LTC way way outperforming ETH for months now and likely to continue on that trend. Be a winner, buy LTC.

ETH holders are probably excited for the Ethereum PoS release date. The Proof of Stake update will allow them to stake their ETH and become validators on the Ethereum Network. However, the Ethereum roadmap changed since the beginning of 2018 which has caused a few delays. This pushes the new Ethereum PoS date back to mid 2019. But it's not all bad news. In fact, for most ETH holders the new ETH PoS date may be a blessing in disguise.

Clearmatics authors have proposed “ZETH, an adaptation of Zerocash that can be deployed on top of Ethereum without making any change to the base layer.” Not only does the cryptography researchers’ study suggest “ZETH could be used to transfer Ether, the base currency of Ethereum,” the paper’s abstract reads, “it could also be used to transfer other types of smart contract-based digital assets.”

It is probably not going to die right away since there are still many ETH believers around but Binance's IEO with BNB may come close killing it in the near future. It is already just one step behind. One more time a x3 pump on BNB and the FOMO will take care of the rest.

The whole market has fallen into correction phase, and no one knows how long will the correction wave last. I guess the correction wave of crypto, including Ethereum might last till the end of this month before something big suddenly appear. Moreover, who knows next sudden movements of crypto, especially bitcoin and ethereum, are upwards or downwards. Let's obsever to see how long the corrections last and next dramatic moves.

Friend I disagree. Ethereum isn't a hype pump and dump coin. It is an industry. Because of Ethereum thousands of developers have a long term job. Also projects like Tron/EOS/Vechain were built on Ethereum before moving to their own chains. Being a Bitcoin maximalist is ok by me but don't nulify what Ethereum is doing for the market.

Buterin is in Australia for the second time ever, heading to Ethereum development conference EDCON in Sydney this week, from the 11th to the 13th. While the conference is broadly focused on all aspects of Ethereum’s development, Buterin says he’ll mainly be speaking about Casper CBC, a new consensus algorithm in development for the platform.

This new development is part of Ethereum’s ‘2.0’ roadmap, which Buterin says is coming along well, despite some readjustments and setbacks since the initial plans were set in 2017. The development team, which includes a number of Australians, have launched testnets for its new proof-of-stake network, and isn’t far off rolling out the 2.0 protocol.

“The actual protocol for Ethereum 2.0, which includes proof-of-stake and sharding, is very close to finished. We’ve had a lot of progress on the research and development front,” he says.

LTC is older than ETH, but it's still only a fork of bitcoin, nothing else. On the other hand, Ethereum is still under severe development and has active support of big organisations, so it looks like it has a brighter future than litecoin.
