Bitcoin is depending on the price with USD while alternative coins have their value with BTC or ETH.

Altcoins prices are dependant on the price of btc, meaning if bitcoin price rises, so does the altcoins, if the bitcoin price decreases, so will the altcoin. But the price of the altcoin will not increase or decrease the same value as bitcoin does.
