Ok CATclan, this is a 'good news, bad news' post and ends with a question. Ready?
The good news is that the new code is working! We've thwarted a huge hash attack and limited the switch-pool harvest to only a couple of blocks. A few more like that and we expect that we will start falling off pool lists. This bodes very well for the long-term stability of our network. We can fairly easily change the code, but it'll take longer for mining pool behavior to change.
The bad news is that no coin - regardless of how difficulty is adjusted - can continue to move if nobody's mining. Our network hash rate is too small. And if one hits a P2 node and the major pools, they'll find that the majority of the hash power on our coin is coming from pool operators and the dev team.
I cannot and will not speak for the entire community or the dev team (note that this is not a 'dev flash'), but I will confirm that a number of us on the dev team have leased additional computer power to keep us moving to and beyond the fork - but this disabled veteran cannot afford to lease enough hash power to keep us moving long term - and none of us want that as that is the opposite of a decentralized system.
So, here's the question: Do you, the CAT community, want this coin to succeed? Don't answer or post - no need. If you want it to die, simply move your miners to other coins. If you want it to succeed, however, mine it and have your friends mine it.
Thanks everyone. Andy

DEV FLASH
It appears that the CoinEX CAT mining pool is not yet running V0.9.0-PID code. While we do have multiple support tickets open with them, we cannot yet confirm that the exchange or pools are running the correct code or are on the 'live' fork.
We recommend that nobody use either the CoinEX exchange or mining pool until we confirm they are running the latest code and are on the current fork.

I have put some hash onto catcoin now, great work from dev team and its good to see people standing by catcoin. We have overcome this hurdle and i do believe we need to prepare for scrypt asics but lets mine for the time being If we can outline some future plans, promotion work that will be great, im still working on a few things too. Bad news about the dimamond collar show but its still possible to hopefully get the diamond collar to accept catcoin as a payment and if we can get a good donation which is hard for them to turn down then it can still work. I really hope we can get the community growing again, we need lots of ideas from everyone

They contacted me with the news about the information in the articles being false... At the moment they are not accepting cryptocurrencies. This is not to say that they never will. However i am in no position to say as of if and or when this may occur. This is not something abandoned, but is something that has to be approached at a later date. A few months down the road perhaps. They have other life issues to attend to, that take priority over other things. I did speak at length with Madelena over the phone and have direct contact with them.... In the meantime... go buy a toaster http://www.burntimpressions.com/buy-stock-toasters.php?ProductId=35496110

Why is the difficulty going up so high when no extra miners join? The difficulty should be lower so more people will find it interesting to join.. With this difficulty it will take very long to get 1 block because the hashrate is only 25mb/s?

It is adjusting to multipools. It is doing a lot better than it used to.

You are mining at 1% pool fee and you are not donating. Coinium is applying a 1% fee at this very moment. I can confirm that one. Vondi - I only mine CAT on Coinium and there is nothing in my account or in any of my transactions that show a fee - only my donation percentage. Can you provide a screen shot or link that shows a pool fee for CAT please? edit... Found it - "my account", "dashboard", left side half way down "account information" and I agree. The full list of fees is also here: http://www.coinium.org/poolmanager/That's why I asked for additional information - It saves us all a lot of time. I'll send it to Maverick to update the OP. Really Coinium charges a fee? wow nobody else told you that twice did they? Oh wait! I did! Instead of trolling when im trying to help you could actually check the info i give you. I don't know where you are looking but the fee is displayed in the transactions list. I even showed you a part from it here at the forum, but you ignored it. But is see the OP still has the wrong info.

You are on the wrong chain. You will have to delete the following in your .catcoin directory, and then re-sync: blocks chainstate peers.dat
