Hopefully an Android wallet app can be developed before hand as that will also help.

Absolutely.  An Android (and ideally Apple) wallet app is key to the more widespread use of cryptocurrencies in general, and this one especially.

Just got my first AUR! Can't wait to see the impact of the airdrop. Publicity for the currency seems good right now.

What do you think the impact of the airdrop will be? (honest question)

Lots of press, and a huge speculative upswing.

made a basic block explorer

copy from reddit post

I just whipped up a basic blockexplorer for AUR using bitcoin-abe.
It is or will be available at the following addresses:

* http://blockexplorer.auroracoin.eu (working)
* http://explorer.auroracoin.eu (waiting for DNS propagation)
* http://aurexplorer.info (waiting for domain registration)

I'm looking for donations to be able to improve the site make it more stable / reliable, improve the looks maybe add hashrate graph and/or other goodies

I would be very happy and motivated if people donated:

AUR: AL8vRddTujqaFJQ3feZpg1jYHz6Jv2Rkwc

Edit: Also http://auroraexplorer.dy.fi/
It is quite much experimental, please try it, I'll try to keep it online. Donating would help!

Just a funny thought: Iceland is an island; what if iceland's internet would be cut out, ie. separated from the other word?. Would auroracoin block chain fork?
Well, not very likely; they have 3 cables to the outside.

What do you think the impact of the airdrop will be? (honest question)

If smart phone wallets are available for the airdrop, retailers in Iceland will for sure want some business from these coins; as long as they feel they are of some value. Which in turn comes from how well the airdrop goes. If it goes bad with many people saying they haven't got their coins the bad press will kill the coin.

IMHO, if the devs is a really honest guy, (some people really are you know ) this coin will do well, if he's not, regardless of the semi agreed hard folk, I think the coin will fail from bad press.

I don't know the dev, but I wish you all the best for an excellent idea.

History will remember your actions.

Good luck Auroacoin.

FYI maxcoin release was an example of how not to release a coin. Max keiser has shown his personal true worth (or lack of) with his continued support for a terrible release which he promised would be so fair.

Honour and respect are worth more than money. Max clearly doesn't agree with this.

Is there a reason the AUR pool isn't https when the coino pool is?

We could use some more miners over at.

https://aur.cryptoculture.net

Keep the network decentrailzed.

"This 0.1 automatic payment transaction fee is a network fee and goes back into the network not the pool."

Isn't this bullshit? Default transaction fee seems to be 0.001 and pool does not need to pay any network transaction fees..
It is ok to get some fee on withdrawals, but please tell the truth. Well at least you tell about the fee, the other pool doesn't even mention it.
(hmm.. maybe it is just some default on the pool sw. But anyway, it should be fixed)

Hey, stop crying about 0.1%.   That's bullshit.   Instead of complaining go to another pool.  Damn Troll!

Okay, I'll drop the 0.1% TXN fee and change the pool fee to 1.1%. , what is the damn difference.   Crying over pennies is a waste of energy.

We are providing a pool with DDOS and SSL protection -   why don't you set up a pool and let people mine at it for free.

NO POOL IS MAKING MONEY OFF OF AURORACOIN CHARGING 1% POOL RATES.  YOU GUYS ARE BASICALLY MINING FOR FREE.

Hey! I did not complain about the sum, I complained about the claim that the fee was going to network.. However, I have a feeling it was not intentional, but just a default message, which was not noticed and thus not corrected. This kinds of things happen when you put up a pool on a hurry, and everyone was hurry at the beginning!

The same error was in most pools, sorry if I rised your pool as an example.

ps. You are right, 1% does not make a difference, but I have only a lousy 5770, that 0.1 AUR TXN fee does make a difference..
