An extremely rough estimate: 4 days with a00k's solo miner (this may be a bit conservative)

Of course, this is on average and assumes a00k's solo miner is as optimized as dga's b9+ xptMiner.

The original optimized solo miner by gatra tells you the estimated time until you find a block, however you shouldn't use that as it is not nearly as optimized as a00k's miner.

I curious if I should do mine solo or just mine ypool.

right now I am using i7 2700k ( 6 threads) & i7 4770k ( (8)full threads) = 14 threads

I think every 22 minutes , I may get 1 RIC .

3 per 1hr

3  RIC x 24 hr= 72 RIC / day

I think that is correct.

how may RIC per block reward?

Oh I assumed you would get more like 0.5 per hour and that's how I came up with 4 days. We don't know if ypool miner is performs better than the solo miner or if it is the other way around. Block reward is 50.

Since you're asking for opinions: mine is that you would be better off pool mining.

I've written up a new blog post, part #1 of 2, about the basics of engineering a faster Riecoin miner:

http://da-data.blogspot.com/2014/03/fast-prime-cluster-search-or-building.html

Comments and feedback appreciated.  Python code is all available in the same github that you've already downloaded for the fast miner:

https://github.com/dave-andersen/fastrie

You should be able to play with them at home. Smiley

Thanks! Going to crack my head reading it but trying nevertheless Smiley

Btw, these optimizations useful for primecoin as well?

Just a quick update: Just edited riecoin.org again as promised. Made a lot of minor mistakes while rushing so fixed those. I am done with Riecoin.org redesign for the weekend while I redesign Datacoin.info and create RiecoinFoundation.org. Emailed Gatra the file so he can upload the new site whenever he can.

Since the majority of you guys want open source, the code for the website will be available sometime Sunday.

Feedbacks are always welcomed on what to change/what to add. Sorry if I miss some of your guys suggestions. Feel free to tell me what information I've missed and what information I need to add (new pools, exchanges, etc.)

I haven't finished the blog writeup or all of the code explanation for this, but the full Python implementation of a gen-3 miner is now done:

https://github.com/dave-andersen/fastrie/blob/master/explain/examples/search_rie_sieve.py

It finds the offset used for the successful target in the first Riecoin block in 15 seconds, and the second in 60 seconds, using a single thread,  in Python.

Admittedly, this is a very biased sample, because almost by definition, these targets were the fastest to search (because they were found!), but hopefully it's still an illustrative example, and the code should make it fairly clear how the search process in all of the newest miners actually works.

The blog post will explain some of the math that's in there to create the sieve.

I need to pay closer attention. Did the difficulty raise again? MY stats on YPool has dropped like a rock on sse11 from dga.

If you are going to leave your BTC on an exchange please send it to this address instead 1GH3ub3UUHbU5qDJW5u3E9jZ96ZEmzaXtG, I will at least use the money better than someone who steals it from the exchange. Thanks Wink

I'm sure it will explode once the price goes up again or a stratum miner is released. Or if the difficulty explodes.

Check your miners - some people are reporting that they're seeing invalid shares start showing up after the miner has been running for a long time.  I haven't been able to replicate this yet on any of my machines, but I'm looking.

Holey cow.

I do have my 1100t (best miner) getting "work() : not prime  share total: 2858/2115"

I'll restart it and see how it goes.

Edit: Was this just in the b11 version for this problem?

Yea...as for me. I am thinking of buying a couple more RIC at this price. I am continuously buying at every price level in drops.

Excellent Cheesy. Btw, the RiecoinFoundation website might be delayed until wednesday since I still am working on the Datacoin.info site. As for the Riecoin Foundation itself, PMs will be sent out on late Sunday with more information.

What is the largest prime sextuplet that's been found so far? Is there any place where we can get this info? It would be nice to see how much progress you guys are making.

+1

p=<snip>

The size of p is 1856-bit or 559 decimal digits:
{p, p+4, p+6, p+10, p+12, p+16} are all primes
This is the largest prime sextuplet ever found, not the largest found by Riecoin miners? The difficulty was hovering 1200-1300 up until around a week ago, and is 1575 now; is it reasonable to expect that it would reach 1860 within the next few weeks, or does the difficulty value not scale that way?

haha you should add me to that list=p

thank you for new miner who ever did it? 4% donation on my 4p server=]

I for one have bought alot of riecoin @2100idk why people would sell coins so low, ether they are mining the coin and no nothing about it, or they do not believe in it. Smh they will cry for selling so many coins for such a low price.

The coin is extremely undervalued, it is not mined via GPUs, and it solves a real life problem in mathematics.

This coin can easy reach .01 when such difficulty explodes and only massive computers can mine and home computers wont be profitable bc of electricity.
Not only that the community exists, but the community is well educated to solve current coin problems!

Also on a side note, someone in real life accepted Riecoin as payment to tutor me and college course work.  College tutoring runs 40-80 bucks an hour soo this coin has already been able to give me real value.
