I've pushed a few new changes the repository and updated the binaries to -b11.  Changes:

- Import clintar's fix for reconnecting if the server is rebooted to improve robustness;
- Fix too-high dev fee to jh/clintar in source (this was fixed in the -b10 binaries, but I never pushed it to the source tree)
(The bug:  Instead of donating 0.25% to each of them and subtracting 0.5% to me, it subtracted 0.5% and then donated the full amount to each person)
- Remove unneeded use of atomic header file to simplify build process with older gcc

 -Dave
regular make, make -f Makefile_mtune and make -f Makefile_nomarch all segfault for me. Using a first generation Core i7 920 and 32 bit linux mint 16

Can someone please get a working 32 bit linux build going, I've wanted to mine this coin since launch and still have an empty wallet Sad

32 bit is slower than 64 bit?

Maybe you should boot up a copy of 64 bit Linux if possible?

I need to pay closer attention. Did the difficulty raise again? MY stats on YPool has dropped like a rock on sse11 from dga.

Check your miners - some people are reporting that they're seeing invalid shares start showing up after the miner has been running for a long time.  I haven't been able to replicate this yet on any of my machines, but I'm looking.

yupe, 3 in a row after you mentioned it.

Just happened to 3 of mine again.

Is there a way to have it run for a certain amount of time and restart it by itself?

I didn't realize the first time was about half a day.

If you are going to leave your BTC on an exchange please send it to this address instead 1GH3ub3UUHbU5qDJW5u3E9jZ96ZEmzaXtG, I will at least use the money better than someone who steals it from the exchange. Thanks Wink

I have a script ran from cron that restarts my miner once a day..

It works but the fast miners are not yet compatible with stratum pools.

I have always been a primecoin fan, can you elaborate how this is different? or why mine this on all my computers instead of primecoin?

Ha me too.

Short version comparison:

XPM
- Difficulty by length of cunningham chains.
- break world records for long cunningham chains

RIC
- Difficulty by length of prime number digits.
- fixed at prime number constellations of size 6 (p, p+4, p+6, p+10, p+12, p+16), also called sextuplet
- break world records for long length of prime sextuplet

Why you want to mine this is up to you Smiley I am mining both  Grin

4 hrs after I started 2 instances of xptminer on 2 different machines, I noticed a chain of "Reason: CheckProofOfWork() : n not prime" on my I7 4770, compiled to AVX. My other machine, Quad core Q9550, compiled to SSE, no chain of msg yet.

SOLO or POOL?

In Primecoin, I made less money on ypool vs connecting 100 VPS servers and solo mining primecoin

What is your take on this for large VPS (CPU Core) farms?

I suppose if you have large VPS farms, you should make more from solo.

Btw,
Riecoin's block reward is 50 vs Primecoin's current reward of 8 or 9. An estimate of current pricing on exchanges, XPM is 10x the price of RIC. So you have to mine RIC at about 2x the rate more than XPM..

I've had this too on dga's official b11 Windows build. It just stops finding valid shares altogether and always says "n not prime" for any share found.

There are some differences between primecoin's and riecoin's "blocks"

Primecoin has 1 minute blocks that each pays 9,25 coins, so per 10 minutes  that is the "default bitcoin block" its a total of 92.5 coins.
Riecoin has 2.5 minute blocks that each pays 50 coins, so we have 200 coins per 10 minutes.
