Sorry that was a mistake (typos) I meant to say conference league not championship. Celebrating a win over Gent with a front line of Pedro Neto, J. Felix, Mudryk and Nkunku which are all expensive purchases. Chelsea squad valuation alone is the combined valuation of all other clubs in the conference league so technically we should be winning all this games with our 2nd or 3rd teams.

10 men Nottingham Forest and we still couldn't score with about 20 minutes more playing time (extra time included), games like today is when I wanted to see what Chelsea got that can help them to win games but nothing to show for and we have dropped another 2 vital points.

Thank you, not my debut season though. I remember playing in the very first pool back in 2019 or so (can't remember) but it does feel good to be back (2 yellow caps, hoping to win more).

The problem we have here is that superbru doesn't display the total closeness for a certain round. We can't know who had the less total closeness in round 7, unless we calculate that manually.

Right; which is why I've been using the "Total Closeness" system for the entire season in the event of a tie-breaker situation.
This also incentivizes people not to get lazy and actually try to win the entire season.
If there is a tie for "Total Points" at the end of the week, there will be multiple Yellow Caps awarded.

Team/players valuation doesn't win you games - Gents are not on our level but they're not too far from it. We're playing in the same category for a reason. We're both mid. Lol

Less than 30 minutes to play against 9 players in the box- there's nothing you can do. Could've been easy if they had complete players on the pitch. Nottingham forest always give us problem.. I wasn't expecting much from that game.

You could just go with whoever is top as per Superbru, which I would be in this instance. Do they take into consideration factors involved in that or is it random? Alternatively, if there's multiple winners maybe you could split the freebet up between them.

Congrats to the winners of yellow cap, it was very exciting battle until the end, but last Premier League round was very hard to predict for most of us.
Biggest shock for me when Tottenham lost against Brighton because I saw they had solid two goals advantage in the first half.
Aston Villa missed a big chance to climb the table against Man United.

Not sure what to think of Slot to be honest. This is a good way to play to get results, but I preferred to get them by playing football that was more fun to watch.
Early signs show that he will get results, he's doing great with a team that wasn't built according to his preference. But I really do miss gung-ho end to end football with fist pumps.

I know it sounds silly - professional sport is all about the result. For me it never was though, I'd have never started supporting Liverpool when I did if I looked at the table.

I'm thrilled we're doing well, I just miss Klopp I guess.

Yep, I'm still holding out on opinion, my kid keeps telling me Slot's great but we've had no real challenge yet this season. Relatively regular Prem teams. A crap Milan and a crap Bologna, and just really on-form forwards and VVD/Alisson.

I don't mean to sound ungrateful for a brilliant start, but perhaps my only comment is that his method should definitely result in fresher players for much longer into the season. If we at least try to play Liverpool, excite the fans, especially on the big games, and not just be conservative all the time, I'll be happier.

Like you, football wasn't always about the titles. I never expected to see the Prem title in my lifetime, Istanbul was a great one-off (I thought at the time), and there were just so many incredible memories in seasons we didn't win. That's why we watched them, like you say. Prove me wrong, Slot boy.

If he keeps getting the results he is getting now, there will be little option of changing the way he plays anytime soon even if it does not get the Anfield fanatics going. I can understand the fans wanting something more or more of what they are used to, but if his previous teams have always played like this, then he was hired to replicate that at Liverpool.

I think he is worth sticking to for the next 3-4 seasons whatever the outcome of this season is at the end.

Yeah, but that isn't quite fair tbh. Klopp lost small games, Rafa did, Kenny in his golden years did. Pep is losing them quite often.
Slot lost one too, every game in the PL and in CL is a challenge. We didn't play as well in many of these as the results show.

The gameplan is clear though and I like that he has got a clear vision. I don't really like the vision, but I hated the most dominant Spain team with 7 midfielders and no strikers as well. They were unbeatable for a period of time though.

I am sure he'll have good results - his approach is cautious yet modern. When he brings a few more 'control' players (which I felt Klopp needed too - and got finally in Thiago who couldn't quite endure PL's pace and stay fit) we'll see an even more compact team. Those 4-3 rollercoasters will probably be a thing of the past though.

Agree. Continuity at good pace (results wise) is better than manager musical chairs, even if I'd have wanted Alonso at the helm. I'm not sure what he was hired for but if our data babies at the backroom are responsible (and I think they are), it's purely to replicate his points ratio vs squad value and strength.

Slot doesn't seem to like being compared to what he did in NL though -- he bristled when he was asked about 4-2-3-1 (which, apparently is not obvious to him).

I didn't mean to sound unfair either -- which is why I'm holding judgment until a season's gone. And then, only after he's solved the VVD/Salah/TAA tri-contract quiet problem we have. Just signed on Quansah long term. I would love to see how we play against Arsenal, City, Real, under Slot, and we'll get the chance very soon.

P.S. I loved those 4-3 games -- was in the LFC museum recently and almost all the hallowed games in the Anfield shrine are comebacks of that nature, and me telling my kid that's the Liverpool you simply can't resist. Many (if not all) of them happened before we finally won the Prem too. I know you remember exactly where you were when Istanbul happened, and the comeback vs Barca too, hell even the Dortmund and Norwich last-gasp wins trading punches with a team as willing to go for the throat as we were. I remember those matches so clearly, and hardly remember the moments of the 5-0 and 7-0 United wins haha.

P.P.S. Klopp's taken on some Red Bull role, I did not expect that at all. I'll wish him the best, but I really thought he would have stayed far away from some companies. RB especially!

Who knows what new role will exactly be for Klopp, we are just speculating at this point. In any case all Red Bull sponsored teams have much lower expectations and pressure associated than top PL club.

Klopp will be advising/supporting sports directors on player transfers, serving as a coach advisor, and scouting talent across Red Bull's network, which will require a lot of travel. It will be a very difficult job for someone who earlier stated that he was tired of managing one club and will now be managing 4.

He gave his all for Liverpool, and there was nothing else he could have done if he had stayed. I doubt nobody would ever turn down a Red Bull offer.

He also cut short his sabbatical to take the Liverpool job just a few months after leaving Dortmund. I guess if he sees the right role for him and maybe can plan his future around it, that will take priority at that time.

There are other speculations on what his role will be, but what we know for sure is he will be away from the spotlight, the dugout, stressful press conferences and the media backlash. It is down in the middle between full management and staying idle, which I think may drive these guys crazy.
