As distributing the prize to only top 5 places is going to cause even the people in middle places to lose interest in the pool as time goes on, I also think that at least 10-15 people must be given a prize.
The table is usually quite tight that you can still move up quickly with a couple of good rounds. Also, there's a consolation prize for the highest weekly yellow cap not to mention the weekly yellow cap freebet so there's always something to play for.
If you ask me, I prefer that only the top 1-10 receive prizes. Because I think 20% of 50 participants is already a lot and that's too much for the number of people who can win a prize. Yeah, I feel like it just devalues it when half the pool gets a prize. Sure, it's nice to win something but such a small amount is hardly worth it. I prefer to just pay the very best of the pool with decent prizes rather than devalue the top spots just to make sure 6-20 win something.
