The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Here's my dumb question for anyone: If I set up (pool account, config) and start up before launch, will my miner connect and kick in at launch? Or should I wait until launch before setting it off?

I only ask because I shall probably be out at the moment of launch.

Yes it should do as long as you have worker setup and password correct etc.

Cool, thanks for responding.

Join several pools and set up failover in the .bat-file to all the pools you joined, Wink

You can point your miners to "stratum+tcp://mnt.coins4everyone.com:3445" and go have party -> we'll do the work for you ;-)
You miner will retry automatically until it can connect to our stratum.
As soon as the wallet is online, we'll compile it and run the stratum -> then your miner will connect successfully and mine many coins.

Just don't forget to create your account and worker on the pool before leaving and double check your miner's parameters (address, port, username, workername & password).

Disclaimer: *Should* do Smiley Don't blame me though if it doesn't !

In CGMiner if u use a fallback it will definately auto connect. Itll run your fallback pool til it scans your primary pool (mint.dogemoon) and sees that its working - at which point itll join and hash away.

Something like:

cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://mint.dogemoon.com:3333 -u xxxxx.1 -p x --failover-only -o stratum+tcp://dogeu.nut2pools.com:5585 -u xxxxx.1 -p x

without knowing the specs that's difficult to set.
we don't know if we'll earn piece of coins or millions...
be sure we'll set that very quickly ;-)

right now, the thresholds have been let to default (1-250)

ALL the coins are scam coins, but what really matters is whether or not the majority of users will accept them for use as currency.

ffs.

I know I am still new here, and new to mining as a whole, but is this the norm? That launches just fail to go as planned? Wallets don't get released in time, or don't work, or make the milk spoil in the fridge, etc...
