New wallet available for Windows. Should improve syncing issues. Not mandatory if yours is already syncing.

Great stuff, managed to get mine working with some help earlier but hopefully this will clear up the issues.

Any update on the facebook giveaway payout?

Hi,

How do I mine mintcoin? I have the wallet up and running, but the way I understood, I need something more (cgminer?)

I create a .bat file (I am on Windows) with this:
Code:
 color 02
    setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
    C:\Users\Administrateur\Downloads\cgminer-3.9.0-windows\cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://mnt.allpoolz.com:3333 -u miner.1 -p x -I 13 -g 1 -w 64 --thread-concurrency 6144

And what are these "pool" and "stratum" things I keep hearing about everywhere?

Thank you.

The blocks are slow because there's only 120MH/s. It takes longer to find the blocks. However, when one is found you get more coins as there are less miners to spread it over. Actually, you came at a bad time - that block was a VERY slow one. The 2 blocks before that were found at 2.46%  and 11.19% est shares.

Every proof of stake coin I know of has done relatively well so far, hasn't it?
Nxt is at 5 cent, Peercoin at 4.7 $, as soon as a PoS is worth something there is less incentive to dump it all, since you will earn interest on it.
Here you can have some fun with mining until it turns into almost pure PoS, I like the concept.
If the devs keep working hard on it, this could be a really good coin.

I tryed but can't join your channel and send some text.

You changed in your Windows configuration the settings of the folders to see the extensions of the .txt files?

Admittedly my understanding of POS coins is limited, but if this coins gives an interest rate of 20% for the first year, and 5% less each year afterwards, what's to stop someone from transferring all their coins to a new wallet after first year and get the 20% again.

Or is it 20% until Jan 2015 for everyone regardless of when they minted their coin.

The PoS rate is controlled by the network itself, not by the coins. If you transfer the coins you just reset the coin age, I think. You can't control the PoS rate anymore than you can change the difficulty or the payouts; it's built into the blockchain.

PoS takes a bit to get your head around, but basically coins age over time, and this age then determines when they will "mint" new coins. When coins reach PoS maturing, they enter the Stake section of your wallet; think of your stake coins like a hashrate for PoS mining; the more you have in the stake section of your wallet, the more PoS coins you can "mine". This is a continuous cycle as your coins age, move into stake, then reset. You can't really control it. You can force all your mature coins to become stake coins at once, but there's no real advantage to it other than speed up the wallet if it gets choked up on small transactions, affectionately known as "dust".
