There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

He don't support it anymore. You have to either have 3.7.2 zip already or dl from other source.
(He doesn't)

Prefer either sgminer 4.0.0 (beta)
Or even better: cgminer 3.7.3-kalroth (fork of cgminer, don't fooled by the version number).

http://www.overclock.net/t/1461916/tutorial-ultimate-guide-to-tweaking-amd-cgminer-3-7-2-kalroth-edition-sgminer-instructions-included-aswell-get-the-most-hash-out-of-your-gpu

I am using cgminer 3.7.2 just wondering if there is any benefit to using another miner like sgminer? Or the cgminer 3.7.2-kalroth ?

I tried both but didnt get any performance boost --> gigabyte r9 280x ~ 730 kh/s

for sgminer i used my old settings --> same hashrate
for kalroth all I could squeeze out was ~ 720.. :/

With PoS do you also get transaction fees? Any calculations, guesses how much tx fee you'll get?

Who is pumping this so hard?

I think this coin is *insanely* under valued.  I'm already moving to buy more.  I think MINT will find itself a nice niche as a tier 2 or 3 coin.  Worth WAY more than it is now.

Have you all really never heard of Peercoin? http://www.peercoin.net/

Mintcoin is just a clone of this, Peercoin coin is already "tier 3"

Uhh, we are trying to get rich ourselves here, not pay off early PPC investors. Welcome to the alt coin section.

Well good luck getting Mintcoin to surpass Peercoin

Peercoin is $3.50 per coin.   This just shows the "potential" with mint coin.   it's time for disruption.. Smiley

These current prices for MINT are steals!

But peercoin is only 21,166,036 coins, so mintcoin has 756 times more coins.
I dont think they will get 1$ per mintcoin or could it?
Because i would be a millionaire then if i keep them.
So compared to Ppc they would go around 0,0047 at the price its now,
How many sathosish is 0,0047?

Yes. They are trying to get listed on Cryptsy right now.

But MINT has it's own exchange:

This is probably going to be the main exchange for MINT though...

The chart is totally wrong.  The 5% increase is wrong.  49,000,000 + 5% does not get you 77,000,0000  - Nice try but the entire thing needs redone.

I agree the second half is messed up. Thanks.

Here is an updated chart, that is compounded approx every 20 days.

  5  satoshi ----- done
  10 satoshi----- done
  50 satoshi----- soon   Wink

or it we finally have a coin that makes sense - if you think about the power required to keep bitcoin going or any PoW coin - it is a waste of electricity

Yet for investors/speculators, PoW coins can make more sense. PoW need to be worth more because it must cover the expenses of mining. PoS won't have the overhead costs so its coins can get by with being valued much lower. In general PoW coins should be worth much more than PoS.

I'm not so sure,  PoW does make sense that the cost of mining is part of the 'base' value.  But the mining does act as inflationary agent.  Sure we all know there is 'cap' on the number of coins.  But a persistent demand must exist to purchase the coins as they are produced.  With MINT, there is no more supply at all in a few weeks.  This means no coins being dumped for insta-mining profit.

And the coins pay interest,  20% is massive, it could easily overcome a slight loss in market value over that time.  MINT would be a safe bet in turbulent crypto waters.

It is going to be interesting.

Yeah, very interesting, we'll see where it goes
