Nice! Love me some cryptocurrency innovations!
So explain the daemon hosting a little bit for us non-technical folks. Does that need to be maintained for the life of the coin? i.e. Do we need to pay BTC0.075 per month to keep our coin alive?

A working cryptocyrrency network needs at least two nodes. With the hosting we wanted to make it as easy as possible to start mining.

Our idea is that after one month your cryptocurrency has either succeeded or failed so the "initial" node is not needed anymore and obviously we can't commit to eternal hosting with a fixed sum. If there arises more demand for extended hosting periods we can obviously provide it, but that is something that needs to be negotiated for now.

Pay attention that you can set your own seednode in the YourCoin configuration, so that it is possible to "maintain" the network after the hosting period by using your own nodes.

What about the creation of script coins? And does this mean that this coin is able to be mined by acsi?

And how are we supposed to choose which initial block size and halving? Are there any standards to go by?

You can find out by trying the FreeCoin  Wink

What about the creation of script coins? And does this mean that this coin is able to be mined by acsi?
For now we only support coins forked from BitCoin 8.6.0 meaning you can mine it with ASIC miners.

And how are we supposed to choose which initial block size and halving? Are there any standards to go by?
You can set the initial coins per block ratio and the halving rate. E.g. for bitcoin the initial coins per block is 50 and halving every 210,000 blocks. You can also specify how often a block should be found and how often the network adjusts its difficulty.

I remember when we talked about something like this appearing soon some time back in May or so.

You'll have to make Scrypt version if you want to make a good business with it though.

If you need investment for building it I'm available for the stake in the service in return.

A working conf file is already created for you. It comes in the zip alongside the executable. All the coins created by CoinCreator can be mined like BitCoins. The "easiest" way would be to open the debug console in the QT wallet and type "setgenerate true". This will start CPU mining. By typing "getmininginfo" you can check the hash rate.

And yeah, rememeber that the wallets will be in "out of sync" -status in the beginning because no blocks have been found yet!

You should add an option if the coin will be sha256, scrypt or cpu only and if the coin is proof of stakes or pure proof of work.

i think the number of coins should be changeable....
You can choose the max number of coins by adjusting the different parameters in the YourCoin version. In the FreeCoin the value is fixed.

what happens when you finish hosting? is it just a case of hosting an open qt file or two on 24/7 public servers or is it just if ppl take your coin on board and keep qt open all is well???
 Huh noob here btw
used your test free coin all went well.
We host a linux daemon of your coin for the specified time. After the period (if nothing else has been arranged) our node is not responding anymore. Hopefully you have attracted other users by then, so your coin can live on!

Will it create SHA-256 or Scrypt coin?
SHA-256, all the coins are Bitcoin 8.6.0 clones for now.

You should add an option if the coin will be sha256, scrypt or cpu only and if the coin is proof of stakes or pure proof of work.
Yeah, we do recognize the need for scrypt based coins. For now all the coins are Bitcoin 8.6.0 meaning they are sha256 and proof of work.

The coin client isn't using too much bandwidth so it should not affect your web browsing. However, if you mine with CPU your whole computer is probably getting slower...

how many coins did you mine if you have 250 confirmed and 25 un confirmed then your in same boat as me. i would guess its the varidif of the coin throwing the dificulty due to 2 sec insta mine right up to 18.4e what is your cg miner dificulty at?
im no expert just an assumption. iv emailed them about the same thing.

I'm mining on qt wallet console. Old coin not mining anymore. So I made another coin. Already mined 200 of them. I think I need to mine it all myself. Cause nobody mining it then simply coin dies.

I'll have a look at your coin. Could you tell me with what kind of hashrates did you mine the coin. It could be as the block halving rate is ridiculously low in the FreeCoin version, some unexpected rounding with division by zero could happen.

In the FreeCoin version, after 4 days the node specified in the configuration file won't respond anymore.

alls you require is your personall add node and run the wallet with config file including the daemon=1 i believe and for atleast one other third party to do the same 24/7 and then you have a mini node network to keep coin alive. noob here though. and in response to the hash rate question i ran 9 block eruptors at it 3.1ghash. i think i killed the block halving-difficulty and its skyrocketed to stop an instamine

Thanks for the feedback. We'll increase the block halving rate in the FreeCoin version as it is now "artificially" low.

The creation of new coins is once again enabled as the blockchain.info API is back in business!

Hi all,

So I have created a new test coin on coincreator.net. Buttercoin . and as for the coin abbreviation, guess what : BTC. It worked.

they provided only the qt wallet so I am am now mining.
After the first 3 blocks, I have tried to move my btc wallet in my buttercoin folder. Guess what: I can see the bitcoin amount in my buttercoin wallet. So, I have moved the buttercoin wallet into my Bitcoin folder and now I am waiting )

I have tried after 4 hours to create another coin with the same abbreviation : BTC and I get an error and now I am having 4 connection instead of the default: 54.194.99.126.
So my question is: what is the trick?
I  have 320 BTC- buttercoin in my wallet, any donation?
MY Bitcoin wallet address is 1HDUir3CyABDcAuNvcZKHAjN85FnrGC355.

arghhh... i am aware that it is kinda impossible to trick it, but there is a part of me saying..... maybe maybe:))) imagine 320  bitcoins..Smiley))

no is is stuck on scanning...

Am I spamming? Report me!

We just provide the service. It's up to the individuals what they will do with the cryptocurrencies. All in all it is quite easy to find out whether a coin is premined or not.

Do you have a list of the coins you created by chance? Are any of them successful?

Send me a message if you need me to respond to a post, or just send me some  $ADA in an amount that will get my attention = addr1qx7g7vzjtk9mcljxjy0vnewaljk33m67d227d95rsak8mmjdq5erwjygc05l6vftwdzy9qd3t4 9spl5kw5k6684gfawqw9r87w

Most of the coins are clearly created for testing out / just for fun purposes but there are some coins created getting a more serious attention.

I think this is coin is quite cool in the terms of the community aspect:

Let's put it this way... You get what you pay for.

Since these coins are being forked from bitcoin 0.8.6, which has no built in method of peer matching, as soon as the one month daemon hosting period this guy gives you expires, nobody will able to connect to the network. The coin is as good as dead at that point.

What if I had hosting?

My main concern is the tech side of the coin, of which I have no experience. I have no problem hiring someone to take care of that side of it, but finding someone qualified is proving difficult.

The nodes the client attempts to connect to are hardcoded into the client. You'd have to recompile to change them, which if you're paying for something like this, you probably can't do. This leaves only one options for new users to connect to the network: addnodes through the conf file. Less than ideal, and aside from being unprofessional and unintuitive, will likely cause many issues over the long term.

If you need this type of work done properly, feel free to PM me Wink

We understand your concern about losing your clients to our service.
However, the "good as dead" is not true. We offer the seed node option. Static nodes can also be refered in the config file.

In my opinion setting up your own hosting is easy (although it requires some time). What is needed is a linux server with a static ip. Compiling the linux daemon is super easy.

In fact there has been many questions regarding the "what happens after the hosting period is over" - issue. That's why we plan to make a comprehensive "step-by-step" guide about the hosting setup.

All in all we try to be as transparent as possible. We have answered every support e-mail. We encourage people to read more about cryptocurrencies before using our service to understand what is possible and what is not.

There also seems to be this kind of "If you have to ask, don't do it" - atmosphere around the Bitcoin forums. By offering a simple way to create your own cryptocurrency we offer a channel for people to get involved in the "altcoin creation domain" if they feel like it.

Obviously you will get a better and a more customized coin if you use services like Hazard offers. But what will you get with 0.075BTC? For instance people are already willing to pay 2BTC/month for just a cryptocurrency support. http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/2014/03/05/sponsored-story-build-scrypt-coin-receive-10-btc/

This service is very much needed, the scam coins may be coming from some of the  best developers in the community and how would you know? an option to create a coin with new innovation is not going to keep it from being a scam, lets look at how bitcoin could appear to be a ponzi to some, and how would you know if it started out as one or not? Satoshi is good as gone with his tracks being covered by some early adopters.
Hate to break it to you guy's, but there will soon be thousands of coins, nothing wrong with someone coming out with a standard coin, its nice to have new innovation but why are you knocking someone down for using the cheap alternative? They should know you get what you pay for, if miners mine it whats the prob?

We don't provide the source codes in the FreeCoin version. You have to purchase the Yourcoin version to get the source codes.

We don't support ready-made Mac wallets.

However, you can build a Mac wallet from the sources given you have some technical knowledge/experience about compiling.

hey voileipa,

on the free coin i created the file i received tested positive for malware on virustotal.com in the 'rising' category, can you explain?

The wallet tries to open by default ports so AntiVirus programs may consider it hazardous. In fact even Chrome warns that every ".exe" file is a risk so it would not be a surprise that Antivirus programs consider it to be  harmful to run .exe applications from a "untrusted" source.

If you download any windows wallet from the newly announced coins your AntiVirus program probably will warn about them.

I had a coin made by CoinCreator really to test out, and get an idea of what the code will be like, how good it will be, etc.

Firstly, it's not bad, and far better than the Coingen stuff that I have seen on their website.

Still there are niggles which I would ask CC to address, and let me know how to fix them.

1. The Debug Log doesn't work (maybe this is because there is only one connection, from your node)?

2. The programme does not create a Roaming file, but loads everything in Winqt including coin.conf (can this be created, not using a coin.conf but a XXXXcoin.conf and placed in Roaming?)

3. The Winqt file looks like an ordinary Roaming file except it contains the qt-client.

But there are no files that I expected along with the qt, like:

libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll, libstdc++-6.dll, mingwm10.dll, QtCore4.dll, etc, etc (I just copied them from a Doge folder but you get the drift)

4. there is no icon for qt file when in folder (on Windows 7 I get a black box on Vista just a space where the icon should be)

I'm not even a beginner when it comes to coding or understanding what these files do.

Can CC explain the points above, and how I might address them?

NB: Trying to get a node for myself with the instructions given on the site didn't work. Probably my fault, but it did not like the litecoind command (or something like that).

Again, just to note the service is not bad at all, in fact it is quite good, and it seems to work. But if I want to eventually market a coin, it needs to be set up in the traditional way.

This is what I would like:

A qt in the downloads folder with the funny .dll files
A bunch offiles in AppData Roaming, and not with a conf file called coin.conf

How do I achieve that?

There is only one thing in life worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about Smiley

1. The Debug Log doesn't work (maybe this is because there is only one connection, from your node)?
You have to be more specific. I haven't encountered any such issues or got any feedback about the debug logging working incorrectly.
2. The programme does not create a Roaming file, but loads everything in Winqt including coin.conf (can this be created, not using a coin.conf but a XXXXcoin.conf and placed in Roaming?)
The win executable searchs for default a config file named 'coin.conf' residing in the same folder as the executable itself. You're the first person 'complaining' about this so it is not likely we are going to change the default behaviour. However you can override the values with e.g. giving the launch parameters -conf and -datadir. https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Running_Bitcoin#Bitcoin.conf_Configuration_File

Hhhm.. why would you want the DLL files? There are (at least) two ways two build the windows executable: With the DLL files included/not included in the executable. Why would you want ~6 smaller files instead of 1 larger single file? To my understanding the offical Bitcoin QT release does not contain any DLL files but they are bound to the executable. (As is with coincreator) Let me know if you find a Windows environment in which our executable does not work without the DLL files.

4. there is no icon for qt file when in folder (on Windows 7 I get a black box on Vista just a space where the icon should be)
This could be a bug. Let me investigate further. When I recompiled a coin from sources the icon was there. But this was a manual compile.

In general we try to be as transparent as possible. We have the Freecoin option so people not too familiar with cryptocurrencies can figure out what really comes with our service and what not.

When you click 'open debug log' file from the QT nothing happens. That's not the end of the world and you can open it from the dir.

I'm not complaining, sorry if I gave that impression. You would have to be more specific with your instructions, I inow what conf and data dir are but not how to change them (that is why I came to your wonderful service)

You get the sources of your coin so it "can be updated". This obviously requires recompiling of the binaries.

But no. We won't do this for you. After you get the coin and sources you are pretty much on your own when it comes to "updating" your coin.

Your best option would be to check-in the source codes to a public github repository and hope you find some collaborators to make any updates to your coin you want. Or maybe you can do them yourself. (but why would you use our service in the first place if you already have the skillset Smiley)

Finding a competent willing programmer to make updates is not easy, the old forum users here are expensive, and most guys coming to the scene are reluctant to tackle  the job and follow through, maybe that is something coin creator could add as a service?
I still want to launch a coin but I find that the coins I support always listen to the community and they have to make minor changes later.

Yes, there is no support, that I need. After the coin start there is a lot of bugs, problem.

I'am searching a developer, who can help the full support, after when I create my coin with coin creator.

Hhhm... It is not likely we will be offering any "custom altcoin consulting" if that's what you mean. Or at least the incentive should be very tempting Smiley

You know.. as I stated before there are already people wanting to pay 2BTC/month for just a coin support

It is not likely that we will add scrypt-n or pos in the future.

I am interested in creating your coins using the coincreator.

I do not know what's with my coin when the hosting of  will end.

What kind of hosting parameters will be used for my coins?
How many people can connect to that node?

You mentioned the two nodes are needed? it is only at the very beginning, later users already are, so perhaps there is no need?

Is setting daemon already gives a fully functional coin? (mining)
How should correctly set xxx.conf later if I want to buy its own hosting?
Can you say something about the configuration files for these nodes for later?

Do you perform more complicated coin? according to someone's mind?

I have created a tutorial on how to set up your own "hosting " node.

Hhhm.. let me try to answer the questions although some of them are pretty ambiguous Smiley

What kind of hosting parameters will be used for my coins?
Hhm.. I'm not sure what you mean by "hosting parameters". A "hosting" node is nothing more but just daemon running on a public ip to which other nodes can connect.

How many people can connect to that node?
Depends on your server Smiley My experience is that Amazon EC2 ubuntu micro instance can easily handle +100 connections. Obviously all cryptocurrencies are p2p by nature so the network starts to "spread" so it is not easy to give an explicit answer.

You mentioned the two nodes are needed? it is only at the very beginning, later users already are, so perhaps there is no need?
The minimum basic setting for mining requires two nodes connected to each other.

Is setting daemon already gives a fully functional coin? (mining)
Yes.. ? I'm not sure if understood the question..

How should correctly set xxx.conf later if I want to buy its own hosting?
Can you say something about the configuration files for these nodes for later?
The following "minimum" configuration should be just ok: e.g.
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=password
daemon=1

Do you perform more complicated coin? according to someone's mind?
Well not for free at least.

I can can confirm that CC is legitimate, and helpful if you approach him.

Look, it's 100 times better than Coingen, and it's better value, with none of that nasty branding and lack of source code and follow up.

CC did me a favour today, so I'm thanking him for it.

You also get instructions to host your own node for free, too.

Thanks for the positive feedback Smiley
In fact I'm not sure where to focus on next.

From your wording, it sounds as if it was subsequently 'recreated', did the customer come back to you for the redevelopment?
To my understanding it was not "recreated". The guy found some dev(s) and they have been adding stuff like new logos, checkpoints etc..

You should really think to add some of the following to your services if you want it to thrive before others do:

POW + POS option
Scrypt-N and X11 algorithms
Digishield and KWG difficulty retargeting
other options that most investors want to see when the coin is launched

In fact there is a service already out there but still looking to know if it is legit!

Yeah.. It's just that the questions/requests we get range from "how do I mine" to more tech savvy questions like "how to recompile the wallet" or just "I want PoS!".

It's not easy to decide where to focus on.

the 3 letter code for the coin, how is that reserved ?
can that be used for the free coin, then transferred or reuse to the real coin?

It's just a changing of a few lines of code to a certain string. So if you were making a Litecoin clone, you would change LTC to AAP (Just an arbitrary set of three letters to match your coin).

There is no reservation, so you can do whatever you want.

4. there is no icon for qt file when in folder (on Windows 7 I get a black box on Vista just a space where the icon should be)
This could be a bug. Let me investigate further. When I recompiled a coin from sources the icon was there. But this was a manual compile.

So Ive seen many people comment on there being "trash coin' put into the market.

I dont think people understand the beauty of what this could do.  I created a coin (and paid for the full version)  for the followign purpose:

I own a RP Sim on Second LIfe. The biggest issue is to being able to reward active roleplayers without openong myself to the "linden miners" who use repeating gestures to try to cheat the system.

Creating a virtual currency is one solution, though I could just "create" it on paper.. but then it holds no intricate value. So I create a bitcoin clone using this service, which means my "virtual currency" now has a limit to how much can exist. (a good way to keep inflation from taking effect)

Since I then can set everything on the sim to require this new coin for rentals and such, i can set the value of 1 coin to SL Lindens.  Immediately my coins have a value, even if it is one ive set myself, and used in a limited circumstance.  Now, those who rp on the sim have an incentive to use the coin, and to mine more of their own, as mining it woudl equal free rentals for them.  I could also take bitcoin in payment flor some of this currency to be used on the sim.

So now, you got a created coin, with a created market for that coin, with a value set.

So, what happens if my sim becomes very large and popular?  Enough users of the coin means it would be listed on the exchange, meaning then the value of the coin will be floated

If it doesn't become popular?  I still have an internal currency system that doesn't affect the greater alt-coin network.

Now, for you ingenious people.. extend that to apps for phone, or face book.

Imagine creating a game where the "premium" currency used to get items (you know, the stuff you normally have to pay real cash for) is this alt-coin YOU created, that people can spend bit coin or cash to purchase.  Imagine if your game becomes so popular, that people wanted to trade that on the markets.

Just how much you think a company like zynga could make if they created their own alt-coin that people could mine and use, that could be used to purchase premium items in their games, JUSt on the trading market?

Some things to think about before you talk about this service only able to create trash coins Smiley

Hello everyone, I'm relatively new to the Bitcoin world and cryptocurrencies.
Today I created a free coin test (SHA-256) on this site and it seems to work fine but I have a couple of questions ...
If I create a coin, after a month owner shutdown the seed node, and if I do not have alternate nodes dies network of my money? Or just that one user keeps open the wallet to keep it active? I've see Amazon EC2 but it's free limited only for first year.
Then I tried to configure bfgminer but I could not get it to work to undermine this money and I am limited to undermine through windows wallet, you know how to configure bfgminer? I used to start.bat file for other currencies but not using a pool for this do not know how you configure it.

If your coin does not have any users after the one month it dies. Nothing you can do about. You can use the dns seed or just add nodes in the config file you distribute alongside the wallet like any other cryptocurrency does.

Mining with with e.g. bfgminer is simple. It's just that you have to use solo minining instead of pooled mining. So basically just connect to the rpc port of your wallet. Given the rpc port is open on port 21001:
Code:
bfgminer -o http://localhost:21001 -u bullshitcoin -p bullshitpassword --coinbase-addr 19Qxh6GzoHjHNnFTiTPaTkvFZtwmosp1Cv --coinbase-sig "anything here"
The username and password are obviously the rpc credentials you specify in the conf file. All in all: check out the documentation of your favourite miner for solo mining.
I am actually looking for a coin programmer.

Serious serious inquiries only. be prepared to provide me a criminal background check.

Nofyah
I could be interested but you have to be more specific. I can't provide you any background checks. (How could I???)

Please help me. I am desperated.

I generated a coin and want to use my KNJ Jupiter to mine.

I edited the coin.conf file to:

rpcuser=testcoin
rpcpassword=testpass
addnode=54.194.99.126
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=Miner IP
rpcport=9902
daemon=1
server=1
listen=1
gen=0

In cgminer settings of KNC Jupiter I set:
Pool: PC IP:9902
user= rpcuser
pass= rpcpassword

Save + restart miner = Connect to Miner API failed

What did I miss ? Sorry, I am a dummy.
Any help appreciated...

Just keep in mind that you have to solo mine, not "pool mine".

I have created a tutorial on that maybe it will help you.

ok, so if we had you create a coin. And it is working. But. we realized that the original parameters we entered were not what we were looking for. Can we pay you to update those to what we would like to have?

There are too many alt coins. If the new altcoins don't offer some extra functionality why don't just use Bitcoin?

Maybe your best option would be to create a new coin from scratch with new parameters. Obviously, with enough incentive, modifying an existing coin is also possible.

Why do you only accept BTC as payment for coin creation?
If I had bitcoins I wouldn't even be reading this post lol
Why not bank transfer?

I used Coincreator to create my coin XPP for charitable purposes!

http://coincreator.net/#coins/5474ff6ee8ae9920bc95becb5f6979fab4012e65f7dcff4c16a9b28c

Pennypincher will launch
12/14/14(https://www.altcoincalendar.info/coins/1072-XPP)  which will use simple mining:

'setgenerate true'

You just need enough people.to use your coin and setup daemon on Amazon EC2(free service for one.year) it wasn't easy but it was worth the effort(we had to download Ubuntu Server over 500MB)

Now we just need to setup an explorer and if anyone can contribute that will be better!

PM if you're interested!

Remember to add the server=1 in your conf file so the qt wallet opens the rpc port.

why cant  we  pool mine?

i want to create a SHA-256 coin??

Hosting a coin dedicated daemon for 1 month, how much does it cost per month?

will i get a wallet for my coin?

and can i have a download link for the wallet too?

say i want to make a coin, which will enable people to use their old miners and revive them by mining my coin, it wont be scrypt coins, more of bitcoin rather than litecoin if you can get my point.

i also want to offer people to join pools, create pools to mine my coin.

who will provide blocks for the pool to mine?
if i will be the one to provide the blocks, how do i get the blocks??

i am pretty much a noob in this, thats why i need a lot of help. thanks

Hello,

Looking to start a coin for fun/testing, will your created coins be able to be pool-mined? If no, can you do it custom? I will pay ofcourse.

Thanks

Has the payment issue been resolved?   I am interested in purchasing a coin but would prefer to not have to send follow up emails to get it.
Also, do you guys have any plans to expand to any newer algorithms?  I would like to see Lyra2RE or x13.   Thanks.

Just a tought, i don't know if i'm correct about this, but can't you open your wallet on 2 PC's, and add the first PC's ip to the second PC's wallet and vice versa (using the debug window or the conf-file)?

I am not the owner of coincreator.net but I have made coins there

I Can Make the coin for you at coincreator.net (saves you the hassles of having to learn and do it all yourself) Smiley

After your coin is created:

1- I will send you an email with a link  to the webpage that has the downloads of your coin.

2- You can then download your coin

3- You start to mine your coin (if you want, I can show you how to mine your coin to get you started)

Payment of 0.05 BTC in advance + the cost at coincreator.net website to create your coin.

PM me if you want me to do the work for you, thanks

Not to undermine your businessmodel, but my wife knows nothing about bitcoin, and is a teacher (not an IT specialist). She was able to generate a coin with coincreator.net pretty easily....
I just wonder if anybody is going to pay you 0.05 (almost $15) to fill in a simple form and wait a little while... Sad

Just some friendly advice: lower your price if you want any customers (and even then, i'm very curious if you'll have any business at all)

Check the Service section for altcoin creators.
Check the Altcoin Discussion section for announcements from creators and ask there.
Look around the site. Bumping a several year old post won't get you very far!

Good luck.
