I'll be 100% behind you, or anyone else who can help prove that there was any crime committed here.

BUT....

The police will still think we're just complaining that someone stole our secret sword in some abstract WoW world.   There is no crime here.  There never was.  The fact is: if BTC is the same as fiat currency, then we have a case.  If it is not, and it is a revolutionary way of holding value and wealth, then the established means of law enforcement is USELESS.  Learn your lesson.  That is all.

-d

The nearly $400M in bitcoin that MtGox lost sure raised a flag for law enforcement. They might be scratching their heads trying to figure it out, but they know it is a big deal. If I lost coins on an exchange, and I believed fraud was involved, I'd report it to law enforcement even if I thought they would roll their eyes at me. Stealing bitcoins is a crime in almost every jurisdiction. Not reporting it just gives law enforcement an excuse to keep rolling their eyes.

The proof is if you desposit bitcoins to the site now you won't get them back. Every bitcoin that was desposited after the 25th Feb and hasn't been returned to users is proof of a scam.

They can still argue that the bitcoins deposited before the 25th feb was stolen which is obviously a complete lie but where is the bitcoins deposited after the 25?lol

Where would my bitcoins go if I deposited them in today.lol

Honestly people need to wake the fuck up.

BTW Vald is from Estonia, he also got defensive when some guy said some shit about Estonians on this thread... maybe he can help out Wink

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=442256.0

Quote from their website:

"Are you going to run off with my coins?
Yes, we are planning to shut down and buy our private island -
as soon as enough people deposit their hard earned coins."

Just kidding! Coinmarket.io seems like a really interesting platform because it's accepting new coins before other exchanges, and it doesn't crash / lag much, hopefully it will stay this way.

That said, before I signed up, fees were only 0.10%, now it seems they went up to 0.15%, is there some way to get a discount on the fee or is this just a change?

If this guy is from Estonia then he will be able to retire with the btc he just stole. its almost as bad as a Nigerian running a exchange. We definitely need regulation now.

Get the fuck out.

I wonder how much money people lose. Still he point out it is beta everywhere, but at this point it all just goes too far.

The whole "beta" disclaimer BS is only exculpatory given that the user acknowledges that the site  is still in testing status and that there are technical limitations; mistakes and glitches are part of the process and the site adminatrator is not responsible for mishaps under those conditions.  It does NOT absolve the site manager from guilt for obvious fraud and misrepresentation.

Does anyone remember that story a few years back where the guy bought a laptop on ebay and it was broken so he recovered data off the hard drive and started a whole website where he posted embarrassing pictures of the seller/scammer that were recovered from the hard drive?

If anyone cares, Coinmarket.io is up and all the info (in my account, anyway) is still there. But, the coinmarket Twitter account has gone dead. Last tweet April 1st: "Fixed DOGE wallet. Processed ~100 stuck withdrawals (more coming)."

And still, I wait for my 1.9898 BTC....

Ok I need a break, that was overwhelming. Will give another update in 2 weeks. Thanks for your patience.

The home page says not to deposit any coins. As for a shutdown, I don't think that would be a good idea. If coinmarket.io vanishes, it will come across as our coins going bye-bye. Where there's life, there's still hope (however thin.)

lol
If you think the scammer/schoolkid that was running this site can afford to replace your coins out of his pocket money then I have 3 million trollcoins to sell lol.

Just watch out for the next scam site they try and setup with the same format but under a different URL, there has been at least 1 so far.
