It seems to me that it is beyond our control. Indeed, countries can take measures, or rather if governments start to recognize cryptocurrencies, rather than alienate from them, then fraud will be punishable. And now anyone can create projects and pass them off as an innovative, revolutionary idea.

I Think we cant stop them but what we can do was to be more careful on our action and for every details that we are submitting. Because we dont know we are going to be scam and hopefully not because it may cause a big loss for us. Double careful only was the key to protect ourselves from it.

The world of crypto is very wide and is attracting attention from all continents of the world. Also there are investors from all over the world. Because the crypto world can not be controlled by the states and because the rules of international law are not clear, there are many malicious people here. We can try to protect ourselves by doing deep research.

In every area of the business there is only the dark side. and the dark side of this ICO is a lot of project ended as scam investment. and itself should depend on the user himself choosing the best investment. although many have been victims of such ICO investments but not all will end up like that. we have to do our self research about the project. before any investment there.

It's not that much beyond our control, actually there are so many ways to spot a scam but the only thing we need to do is figure out where are them .
Those things will not be easy to spot that's why we need to spend much time on it.

To be honest i think there is now (and never be) guaranteed method to avoid scams. Only if ICO's technology itself will have some anti-scam rules. I hope such ideas like DAICO can help  Wink

WORTH READING, SPECIALLY FOR NEWBIES-MEMBERS

If you are asking me if I'm a professional, Nope but this is based on my experience. Grin 80-90% what im sharing to you is legit.

Are you tired of being S C A M M E D on bounty?
Are you tired of INVESTMENT S C A M s?

This thread might help you to avoid project scam and your money can be safe.

There are two kinds of bounty hunter in this forum, Old and the new ones.
Today, it is the new era, there are many new members here in the forum and yet many S C A M project.

Long ago, you can feel that bounty is safe without looking or checking any information about the project.
But now you can't feel it anymore, sometimes even the high rank and famous B O U N T Y MANAGER holds and support scam project just for money.

This things that might help you to avoid scam project

1. B O U N T Y ~ M A N A G E R S

I think you have many basis and known personel on where you can join bounties, like needmoney etc,. Well,This is a additional factor on finding a good campaign since if they try to hold and support a scam project, their reputation and name will be destroy, also the career as a bounty manager can be affected.

There are DT Members, they are here to help us and observe some bounty managers. If ever they support a scamand fake project just for money, and it is proven, red trust will be their punishment.

Regarding to those people who supports scam projects, THERE ARE SO MANY. Well, specially Tokensuite.io this is a recent issue, we make a lively thread in scam accusation about a specific project before their private sale, we have many proofs and statements we show through our observation on that project but still the bounty campaign is ongoing. They stopped in when the whole world knows that this specific project scam is proven. It's too late, their research team is very slow. Well, it might be about the money that's why they still hold it on or other reason, who knows?

2. W H I T E P A P E R S

Did you try reading this? I SALUTE TO ALL PEOPLE WHO READ THIS WHITEPAPER BEFORE JOINING THE BOUNTY. This is an important factor specially if you're an investor, you should know how does things works and why did they conducted an ICO, objective of their platform, and also the ROADMAP.

This is where you can see if this is alegitimate project and this case, you can know if the project is POSSIBLE or can be done. Yes, ask yourself first if it's possible before joining. Google is there if you need to know about some things and research about this, if this project can be POSIBLE and don't forget that you're a member of this forum, you can ask and open a discussion about this.

3. T E R M S ~ O F ~ U S E

Are you wondering why ToS is included? Sometimes it is the easiest way to know if the project is fake or scam. Some fake projects have a dumb developer team just copying the ToS of others , although there are chances that it can have a same ToS but not the same usage of words right? you will be surprised, different projects but having a same mind even the count of letters are also the same with others. There are thousands of words and you think it happens incidentally? Same? IMPOSSIBLE.

I think Hashcard is good at rephrasing ToS Grin
HashCard ToS --> https://www.hashcard.io/pages/TermsAndConditions/   Last Revised: March 5, 2018

Simplex ToS --> https://www.simplex.com/terms-of-use/ Last Revised: January 16th, 2018

So here you go, you have an awesome idea, There are so many posts like that but i only quoted one. If you wanted to know about this click this link: LINK 1 and LINK 2

4. D E V E L O P E R ~ T E A M / P R O J E C T ~ T E A M

This is an important factor that you need to know, check those persons if they are legit. In the end, it might be a fake personality and fake person.

LinkedIn account? Don't trust this, try to chat them in telegram group and ask a little bit of information about them. Don't trust the online information, sometimes it's fake. Try checking the Social Media accounts where you see those faces, always rememberLEGITIMACY is VERY IMPORTANT. If they are dedicated and want to have a successful project, show their faces. That is not wrong, it can also help them to build the trust and have an assurance between the devs and the supporter.

5. R A T I N G ~ S I T E S

DONT TRUST SOME RATING SITES.

Start of the project you can see a 4.5 out of 5 ratings . Amazing right? A pop-up project from nowhere have an instant good ratings? Too desperate to earn money. Sometimes are you wondering why they get a good ratings? Does the project is cool enough? unique? at that time you can know if your money, time and effort will be wasted. Sometimes there are no info, agreements between company and other important papers are not stated in the website but still having a good rating eh? Fakkkeeee

ICO Bench - https://icobench.com/
This icobench? some of people there are being paid for a false review. don't be fool by those shiny stars......
Better use ICO ratings - https://www.icorating.com/

6. D E M O & T U T O R I A L S

This is the most important factor you should ask to those investors before investing something. You are trying to invest to their project, then you should know also the uses and advatanges of that project. This is the fishy scene, sometimes they prioritize the private sale before releasing a good and legit demo. Fake demos everywhere.... fake tutorials..... everyone can do that. Showing facts and informations that is not true in a screen can fool us, be aware of that.
If Got Talent have magicians well developers have baby magicians too.

Like this -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGOmZ10cu3Q
Well, crypto related debit card project but the demo is shit, everyone can do that thing specially the text message, this demo can't satisfy me. SUPER FAKE.
Too good to be true.
(This hashscam is proven, no worries)

Releasing only 1 demo and many people fooled in this project scam #HASHSCAM HASHSCAM
NOTE: STOP BEING AN INVESTARD

Just read this and stop spammin' around with irrelevant tips.

You can add some good ideas about bounty scams to have a good discussion there. This idea is made by me and based on experience, if you read this then you can easily avoid scam bounties.

Protect yourself from fraudulent ICO projects in just one way: we need to spend more time studying the project in which we invest. The advice is very simple, but very useful.

We need to be alert. It is really tough to avoid scam. We can't get out away from it, hackers always will remain in the crypto field. That's why everyone should be very careful about their wallet and all activities. To avoid Ico, Bounties scam, we need to increase our experience, information before taking a decision for investment.

Yes. First we need to equip ourselves with vast knowledge of the crypto space and be familiar with its limits. Some projects come with tempting offers that are too good to be true. I remember crestonium scam. They claimed that they will refund investors if the value of their token doesn't reach a specific high price in some months. This is ridiculous and shows a scam about to happen.

Better get a lot of research so that you will avoid this kind of fraud because as of now there is a lot of people who like to manipulate the weakness of someone and by researching you can conquer all hence you may ask some professionals on what is the proper or right way to invest and handle some situation that may be difficult to other so that when time comes you have a knowledge how to deal with it and have a solution on it.

As far as what cryptoworld reaches, it burst very much wherein most of the people got interested. Beyond its popularity, we can't deny the fact that there are lots of greedy people who wants to have a big earnings through the means of violent moves. I am directly referring to scammers or hackers. We should be careful always of these people because they are very strategic just to get money out of bad habits. We are the who holds our properties so we are the also who is responsible in keeping it safe and protected always. We must not quickly believe on sales talk and other ways of getting yourself relay easily. Secure your accounts and back up it if you can. Never tell a strangers about your information even if it's basic. Handle your property carefully. Good day

in my opinion, you cannot really put an end to fraud. Now a con artist can wrap the project into a real project. All kinds of information is true.
So they will always find a way to deceive others. on the internet it will be hard to trace them because they also look like legit.

it is very difficult to stay away from a scam, because a scam is a risk we must deal with. So it's impossible for us to be far from a scam, maybe we can prevent it, but not to get away from it. the most important thing to be careful in choosing a project that you will follow, research it first.

It is very difficult to know a scam or not. What needs to be done is always be careful in making decisions to invest in crypto. In addition, always keep the private key to prevent any risk of losing the coins held.

Best way is to get yourself a hardware wallet ,first and foremost.

If you aren't using a hardware wallet you have a greater chance of getting hacked or scammed.

Theres nothing we can do to get immune by it. The only way we can is not to become a victim. Although theres a vast world beyond the internet and a lot of scammers exist, we can think that there are a lots of people that can be targetted and you can restrain from it. You can do this by having a very private life and not posting a lot information about yourself on the internet.

Yes, the responsibility ultimately relies on the individual to make wise choices in this market. We can't rely on government or anyone else, the responsibility is our own.

I think there is no any 100% safe solution, but we can limit the ability of scam among new projects.
Firstly, we should search their activites on every social networks we could (There is no any active projects do not update their activities continuously). Secondly, we should check profiles of their team, their advisors.
Finally, about technique, we should review their token's info such as: how many token was supplied on the market? How many percent  of token spent to their team, how about their roadmap, etc?
If we completed all above ideas, then we can ensure 80,90% that the projects is real. How do you think?
