For my own opinion, if you invested in the coin which very cheap and have the best and active team, I'll go with long term investment, because in long term investment, you just need to wait and have faith on the coin you bought.

A very cheap coin doesn't necessarily mean that it would go up in the future because it would still depend on the team if they would be able to develop the project and attract more investors. Long term investments are good but you also have to take into account the circumstances that may happen that has a possibility of your investment being devalued instead of being valuable so you should have risk management.

If you have profits already in your investment then take some and then reinvest in another asset so that you will have diversified source of income. You may do so in your short term investment or long term investment.

Short-term or long-term I choose both, whichever is more profitable it depends on investment growth (crypto you buy), we know that the crypto fluctuate here we must adjust the movement markets to generate profits. Good coin? you can consider ADA, EOS, TRX or BTC and ETH, you can also see cryptos that are in ranked # 20 in coinmarketcap, actually it also depends on your strategy in investing. The right answer is long term period for investment activity, that's the rules. Until now I never know people using short term period for investment, you can see from successful investor history around the world. Profitable or not is depend your choice and market condition, in this cases no one knows. Choose top coin depend many web that have crypto list, I believe they have the same answer and make you not wasting time to find the right coin to replace your fund.

Long-term investment is always considered the best investment, but it is difficult to test their team as every project is new and we can not evaluate the capabilities of the project through Linkedin. Definitely long-term investments is not trading. Because trading mean that you will buy asset and sell it in short period of time without any drawdown. But hold and just wait for a long time is not trading, it is just long-term investment. But actually long-term investment afford trader to earn money and correct his last mistakes. Long term is still the best choice for me because you dont need more time to permanently watch over your profulio in the market. I do like short term trading also if i have a good time to do trade buf for now i am happy to do long term.

I am bitcoin investor starting at q1 2014 and hold for long term is really worked for me. Short term investment will only work when the market condition at very bullish condition. For market like this we need long term vision and really be very carefull when we want to put our money on some project. But if this year we can comeback to $10k per bitcoin then short term investment will worked too. Long term for me is 4 years and short term is 6 month at least.
