That's pretty awful. There's no good reason they have for doing this. Pretty pathetic on their part. Of course don't pay it. I sent you a Pity Merit to help ease the burn.

This is an email chain between me and them

Me: When are my funds going to get restored to my account? I have been waiting almost 2 months.

Them: We will have to rectify your account for that
Once we rectify your account
Your issue will be resolved immediately.
Reply us back so we can tell you the procedure to rectify your account!

Me: How do we rectify my account?

Them:
You will have to make a deposit of 0.01btc to the rectification wallet address we will provide for you to rectify your account.
Once we rectify your account the btc will be refund back to you and after that your issue will be resolved immediately.
Reply us back so we can provide you the rectification wallet address to deposit into!

Me: I habe to give you money to get my money back? No, that's not how this works.
You are scamming people. Give me my fucking money back

Them:
We've nothing to do with your money
Just to rectify your account
Then once we do that
Your money will be refund back to you immediately

Me: Why do I have to send you money to get my money back? Please explain that to me

Them:
The btc is for us to rectify your account so that your issue can get resolved
We've nothing to do with your money
It will be refund back to you once the rectification is done

Me:
Explain exactly how you need more money to rectify my account.

What are you spending money on to rectify your own files?

Them:
It's not your work
It's our work okay!
If you want your issue to get solved
You do what we asked you to do
Or you leave
And your issue will never get resolve

They are real thieves. I don't know how they are able to rob so many people and no one can do anything to them. Not even that, they are trying to rob us with more money. Thieves

Luckily, when I did not deposit this Exchange, I have DGM and transferred to Southxchange. I found this price of DGM Exchange quite high but I didn't hear anyone mention it.

You're wasting your time I'm afraid, CMC has no shame. It readily accepts payments from many scam exchanges to list them, just look at the various exchanges they list - sooo many scam exchanges with fake volume it's not funny. It's how they make money, they will list any scam exchange if the price is right - this is why the info they give is completely unreliable at best & utterly fake at worst.

The only way to force any kind of change is to stop using them.

Use diligence & research. Buy coins, sell coins - don't invest in stupid shit. If your questions aren't answered - don't touch it.

The latest from BiteBTC, they are justifying keeping their users' bitcoin:

Dear Traders,

Over the past two weeks, we gradually accrued returns on the coins listed below to the traders' balances:
https://bitebtc.com/news/31

Unfortunately, almost all applications were for the return of deposits. Less than 5% of traders honestly specified their withdrawals.
But according to our estimates, more than 80% of deposits were withdrawn from the system.
Thus, traders tried to get the previously withdrawn coins to the balance once again.
We identified and marked some of these cases as "double spend", but it is still obvious that many traders have hidden their withdrawals and went unnoticed.
In this regard, we had to return proportionally less coins for all applications.
Unfortunately, this is a fee for collective concealment of withdrawals.

It remains for us to hand out a few coins, for which the situation is tangled - TCH (3 forks), Beldex (4 forks), EagleX and some others.
We do our best to return as large a percentage of coins as possible to their owners.

Thank you for your patience and trust.

Nobody should be doing business over there.
