Why do older people like investing in Gold/Silver?

I think that the only reason for this is their mindset.They are not used to the modern investment assets such as stock market,cryptos etc and they don't know much about them so they don't feel it save to invest their money in these assets.On the other hand gold and silver are being used by people since ancient times so these people have a lot of trust on them and find them more safer for their investments.

I personally wouldn't even want to buy these metals in those events, as I don't see the reason to. I'd rather invest in securities that go up when the market shits itself (Payroll lending companies and so on and so forth)

Maybe because they are not so smart, or maybe it can be cause that’s what they all know about. Gold and silver has been around for long time and are very popular, whereas Bitcoin is still new and not much people are interested in it. By the time they get to know it better, some of them might develop interest in it. And not all old people are into Gold and silver there are some old people that are into Bitcoin and altcoins and believe me, these people are so damn smart. Lol.

They find very strategic growth in silver and gold but not like Bitcoin, Moreover Silver/Gold are a physical they can see them, which they can see them but Bitcoin is completely digital currency where old people don't have any belief towards the online currency like Bitcoin, ETH etc.

I think this is because older people are usually sticking with the things that they are familiar with and the things that are tested with time, and because of that cryptocurrency fears them.

I think they like investing in Gold/Silver because cryptocurrency is new and they worry about it. They don't like investing in something they don't believe, but it is true. Cryptocurrency has only recently been invested in recent years and only people who care about it can really learn and invest in it.

Because gold is quite safe. They buy gold and silver for storage, but not for the purpose of investing the difference. They do not like to keep money, they just love to hold gold. That is why many people fear electronic money should invest in gold.

Only you or some people like you will not invest in metals but majority of the people want to invest in precious metals. Gold is popular throughput the world and mostly old people especially ladies in third world countries because they think that gold is their secure future and if they need they can sell it anytime. Because they are old school and those kinds are more likely believers of physical,what do they care about virtually investing when their hands holds nothing but numbers?not like in gold and silver they can even just store in houses or any places they feel comfortable with,thats the main reason why they are a lover of this metals and not cryptocurrency

Gold is gold and there is no substitute of gold in the world. Still many people do not know about cryptocurrency and those who know do not want to invest in it. everyone in this world want to buy gold no matter what is his source of income and how much money he has, because gold is not a source of making money but just savings and most reliable also.

gold and silver are the least risky investments and can be used or stored so gold and silver are still idols for investment, especially for parents who do not want to bear the risk, they are not affected will offer returns on offer by other investments.

 It is less volatile, when you invest in it, you will have less risk  and because they are old, they want stability, which is also why they invest in gold / silver.  I think when we are old,  we also tend to be like them.

Older people love to invest in gold, silver because it is a safe way to hoard property. In fact, gold is a safe haven for people. Bitcoin does not convince old people that it is perfect and requires patience in time. Time is difficult to predict accurately.

I think it's sort of like cultural thing. Influence of a time that we're not familiar with. For example, why do people in their late 30s early 40s like the original NES, or cartoons from the 80s? Because they were there at that time and it had an influence on them.

If what you said was correct, people should have stopped buying gold for at least a century and that has not happened and it is easy to see why, gold despite being one of the oldest form of investment is still giving profits, this is similar to what happens with bitcoin, why are people still willing to pay more than 7000 for each bitcoin despite the huge price? Because they know they are going to get profits when the market recovers.

Well, its seems to me that older generation is growing up see the value of metals and I think this is one of the biggest source of earning in their time and also they inherite it as a business or investment in their family. Knowing some history about the source of income of our ancestor will give you some point of view about it. In our generation today we can not see the value of it because there is a lot of possible investment we could get today.

Thats closely true fact as I have seen my parents doing that all the time. They always try to buy gold whenever the prices for them are dipping a little.

Well they are now old and they have seen the gold pricing at half of what it is today! So they believe in its continuous growth and who would agree upon that.

I have also read one article where it does mention that the Gold rate always increase by around 7-9% each year and its so true this year as well since the gold prices has soared up a lot.

May be they have seen the real profits (and stable) thats why they invest in it.

I would not blame them and if I am in their shoes at their age, I would rather be considering less risky investments when they only have few times left anyway and I always see them as still living in a borrowed age. As per their experience they do still consider gold and silver are consistent performers in terms of sustaining storage of value and due to gaining decent returns for the capital.

Even some young guys find it hard to catch up with how fast things are going technologically, let alone, older generations that their brains will find it very hard to even absorb how things are being down technologically, and would rather not want to take too much risk.

Because they already feel when the price of gold or silver is still cheap and now is very expensive then they are still investing in it. Maybe if you tell about bitcoin they will start investing too because they know that it will be very profitable.

Some of the older people want's to invest their money in gold and silver because for them gold and silver is very precious interm of price value specially whe they hold them in a long time. And not all of them has an update about bitcoin, some of them did not really know about bitcoin that's why they focus their investment in gold and silver.

Gold and silver already know as safe currency and safe investment for centuries. Old peoples like to invest on gold or silver because most peoples agree that gold and silver have a value as investment and as currency and everybody accepting it

Gold is not only a source of income but it is a shape of money and the world trusts it the most. On the other hand crypto investment is more profitable than gold and silver but holds more risk and when you are in sixties you would not take risk for your investment because of your family survival. You need a guaranteed investment and bitcoin is not guaranteed.
