I think part of the problem is that at one point some dick was trying to copy the coin and there was a fear of there being 2 competing coins (like the whole 3 versions of freaking pandacoin debacle.) So they may not have been able to get facebook.com/flappycoin and/or twitter.com/flappycoin

I am pretty sure the impostor one never took off though. In the very beginning it was outranking the real flappy site on google which was a MAJOR headache...

POS is something that should be seriously considered for this coin. I hate to say let's all jump on the bandwagon but at the same time, it is one of the few new features that is actually useful and promising and may help hold values for new coins rather than slowly collapsing due to downward/sell pressure.

We are currently on block 89262 and new wallet version will be 2.1. Old versions are anything 1.X and below.

The fork was set to take place block 90,000 but was pushed to 100,000.

The 18th will simply require a wallet update and all pools, exchanges etc will be required to update by block 100,000 for hard fork.

READ: For people wondering what wallet is active, if you downloaded the wallet from roughly a month ago you are fine. This is version 1.0.2.

The new wallet version will be 2.0.1 featuring KGW Exploit fix implementation and payout changes.

Again: If you are running 1.0.2 you are perfect. Sit till the 18th new wallet will be uploaded, download that and update. That's all. A more explanatory guide and support will be given upon/before that day however.
