I will say that the compiling issue is a valid one and flappy isn't the first coin to experience this. I have seen several coins where there were last minute problems as it was discovered that compiling the wallets was going to be waaaay harder than anticipated. Thanks for the explanations and please just keep us informed so everyone doesn't panic and think we got abandoned again.

I will. This is not fair to you guys and we promised to much. We will keep you updated, we will continue to work, and we will rectify this issue. Even at this moment me and a few others are doing the compiles/working 24/7 to push them out with a quality version with no errors. Windows is an environment where no real good build notes exist for altcoins, so the build notes more or less just serve as a reference guide and nothing else about what you MAY need to compile the software I am finding. Though that's not fair to make excuses, because this should of never happened to begin with. We should of gave realistic goals which we thought we did but clearly did not.

All we can do going forward is address concerns, get this fixed and in the future work on proper build notes, and a lot of other changes. It's a joke that build notes like this exist, and it's not just flappycoin it's all altcoins. They all share the same out dated build notes that no longer apply and will not compile without going through a nightmare.

I can compile the wallet tomorrow, i tried it just now, got the daemon running. The QT's gamepage needs the qt webkit module which i don't have but will install tomorrow. after that it's a walk in the park.

It's my understanding the game was to be removed from the wallet...

The FlappyCoin game inside the wallet was too heavy. we decided to skip it and update straight to the built-in exchange inside wallet (which is completed). Will release the new version tomorrow.

If the game is still there... it should be removed as it links to the old dev's server (and who knows how long that will remain up)... So you don't have to let that stupid idea of linking to an online game inside the wallet hold you back from compiling. It adds nothing innovative to the wallet.

Let's keep the wallet design as simple as possible so it's more likely we can get it compiled. The old dev messed up the wallet more than improve it.

It is and isn't there, some of it is but it should compile fine and that is not why the compile is failing. These compile issues are extremely common Windows problem for compiling from litecoin to dogecoin to flappycoin. It has to do with build notes being horrid mostly and windows builds always being more tricky then need be.

The wallet compiles fine for linux and mac, and windows wallet was the problem.

Also we will be updating the code over time to remove and add other stuff. Small incremental changes was the goal to ensure we had no major problems after launch.

Very sorry to hear about your wasted efforts... you can forget about that f'ing game link in the wallet and get on with your compile! Like I said it adds nothing innovative to the wallet...

Many thanks for helping us!

Do we have a bounty set up for the guy compiling the Windows wallet?

Current dev posted this address: FJvnnvmruMYRM9wdJTj35gEuwmsXNES31J for the bounty... dev himself wants to offer 10,000,000 to 50,000,000 bounty + another 20,000,000 to 30,000,000 and perhaps even more promised from the community.

Exactly.

Also for thimo yes you can remove the game link and such but we will need what was changed committed just for everyone's knowledge.

If you get a compile successfully built, we also should state we do have the windows daemon but don't trust it. Ultimately the bounty was to find someone mature enough to be able to deliver the compiles going forward.

As for me i'll be here monitoring/working on various things. If you let me know when Windows Daemon/Windows QT is finished we can start packing things together.

Also the address FJvnnvmruMYRM9wdJTj35gEuwmsXNES31J is for developer stash purposes.

Basically the bounty was a range depending on how much work was being done/changed to begin with.

Below fork

https://github.com/FlapCoin

Updating master fork should all be that's done. We can make you a collaborator if things work out.

thimo, are you doing a Gitian build or trying to build this with mingw on Windows?

I don't think you can get the expected executable without doing the Gitian build...

Did you happen to try running it against daemon or compiling daemon as well?
