You have no idea how much we appreciate the work; and we are getting things ready now. Discussing/sending information for DNS switching, we can begin to update links afterwards, the website, and setting up tipbot VPS as we speak.
You also have no idea how much; to everyone for what it is worth we can not apologise enough for this situation.
Simply do not disappear forever! I won't. I won't make excuses either. I nearly abandoned the project when half my team quit and my compile guys ended up not delivering. Though that's not fair to everyone; and this is why the old developer left to a couple weeks back(Nearly same situation for him and his team actually). Unable to come up with a solution. After my whole "Is it worth it? What can I do?" I came to the realization that this project needs honesty. It needs maturity and it deserves someone willing to stay and take the blame and attempt to move forward with the community to fix these issues. now we have thimo, let's move on Working towards that now and discussing between the people left on project, moderating for old developers as well as working on a few things myself for the launch if this goes smoothly. I bow down to thimo's brilliance.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the
subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The
subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Relax, this is just a fork to show the changes that were made. I'm sure that the original dev will update his github soon.

What on earth are you doing...?! It looks like I'm one of the few people who knows what he's doing. Why wouldn't I fork it? It's just to show the changes I made and the dev can decide wether to pull or not. Just stick with the original https://github.com/FlapCoin/flapcoin. Just be patient. I've only made changes to the QT part of the wallet and a small fix for the KGW fix, nothing that will alter the future of a blockchain.

Uhhh... exactly my point, you dont just willy nilly fork a coins code? What on earth are you doing...?! You cant just release a new version people, your chain will fork and you wont see any transactions. None of the pools, and none of the exchanges are on this github. This needs to be done by the dev on the official github and also by someone with control of the OP and a majority of the network must be using this version for this even to work. Why do you think there was 5 pages of people complaining about a hard fork...?
Calm down, he isn't saying for everyone to update he is just posting it so we know he finished. The dev (who is flappycoin username here) will test it and when ready he will announce and put on the official site. Please hold until he says to go ahead. All of this usually happens behind the scenes but thimo is posting it all here just so we all know that it is actually happening because people are sensitive after previous failures to deliver. The dev (flappycoin) will announce when everyone can and should move to a new wallet.

These pools and exchanges will be required to update before block 100,000. https://github.com/FlapCoin/flapcoin

Um, because the whole network needs to move to the code? You aren't in control of the websites? You don't have control of the thread? You are missing a lot of key components here... I'm all for a fork, and I'm glad you are trying, but you need to be the OFFFICAL new dev or this is all pointless as the websites/exchanges/pools are all linking to the original github/already compiled executables. I don't really think you understand what a fork on github is...

I don't really think you understand what a fork on github is... .... You are changing code that directly modifies client code and will cause other clients to have a different chain and thus FORK. what on earth are you talking about. Your KGW fix alone causes a HARD FORK. It's supposed to. I'll have to ask you to not comment if you are unaware of what's been discussed/planned and organized in last 2 weeks. This is not helpful and is causing confusion. Forks are not as bad as you think they are, and that's what is occuring.

Can we verify this before we cause a mass panic? I thought we were doing a hard fork because we are going to change the block reward and eventually coin cap.

KGW Exploit Fix requires a hard fork(And so does the coin payout change at block 100k), and that was always planned. So there shouldn't be mass panic, pools and exchanges will be required to update their daemons and wallets. To ensure you have no issues I would suggest you backup your wallet as well as not doing any transactions until the switch over is complete.

Yes. But I would backup your wallet before every switching to a new version. We will let you know when it's fully safe and update the links on website etc. Again for people reading. Don't update UNTIL WE SAY IT'S OKAY! If you'd like to test it, sure go ahead, but this is important until we can ensure it's stable. It does seem stable, it's being stable, doing a couple more tests now. If this works we can begin rolling it out later today.

IM COMPLAINING ABOUT THE FACT THAT YOU ARE HIJACKING A COIN. I will not update my pool to some random fucking sourcecode that EXCHANGES ARE NOT ON. YOU GUYS NEED TO COLLABORATE WITH EXCHANGES. YOU NEED TO CHANGE THE WEBSITE. WTF. A MAJORITY OF THE HASHRATE HAS TO BE ON THIS CLIENT. We are aware of that. Are you aware this has been in discussions for 2 weeks and I am the lead developer and do have access to all of that? The only thing I don't have access to is pointing the DNS towards the new website which I still have to contact and let the old developer know where it's being pointed to. If you feel uneasy we apologise, but we have given notice and contacted exchanges and such. Stop causing confusion, and stop saying this is hijacking.
