Guys how do we unlock the wallet? Do i have to transfer to a new UNENCRYPTED UNLOCKED one? Read up the thread. I and several others posted instructions yesterday. Jabulon can you give me a link mate? Its 160 odd pages bro. Sorry, would have just typed it out but was multi-tasking. Anyway, yeah it's now right in the FAQ on blackass.com or whatever. Like this: walletpassphrase "yourwallet password goes here, no quotes" "number of seconds you want it to remain unlocked" true

I still cant tell if proof of stake is working or not. I do not have a terribly huge amount of coins. The only thing I can seem to find is errors that say there was a duplicate proof of stake or that it failed on the proof of stake.
IE:
ERROR: CheckProofOfStake() : INFO: check kernel failed on coinstake 579b01ed6a8b44865af03f2329d84b851701468ec9ecfac8b8cdc73ea08424f2, hashProof=23dda075004ed2dfecfcf3000281757d8d35674bf03984ef9e14c6cfb9cbeb23 WARNING: ProcessBlock(): check proof-of-stake failed for block 79dcfbd8038d2edbd26d37b3ae8a36f2c3120550a1ef52a7acbc1b6be8491169

ERROR: ProcessBlock() : duplicate proof-of-stake (COutPoint(e9753f1340, 1), 1393558452) for block e9990031b864e5074937f7d2ae3eeb2371e9ded15e63e4c44ec12a04b469022c
I can't tell if this is normal processing for PoS or if there is something wrong with the compile of the wallet. Any clarification would be much appreciated.

As far as i know (have not tested this myself): It seems not spendable, and it will return to balance after 520 confirms (8hours ish).
Just saw this in the FAQ on the site: " The coins in the stake section are not available for transactions." Hell, if it returns to balance after x amount of time that's fine.. I anticipated it Had to be something along those lines... not just goes into the Stake ether and never touchable :p Or just put whatever you don't want to stake as a "reserve". Check my last post.
I would, but I just looked real quick and saw the mining/stake balance, then cheerily drove off to work so I can't lock/reserve remotely right now. I'll maybe lock it later when I get home and then set a timer to verify it takes ~8 hours to return to the balance.

Duplicates do happen from time to time, and won't confirm.

did you search for "ThreadStakeMinter" ? there should be a line in the debug.log which you appear to have open that says ThreadStakeMinter started

Guys how do we unlock the wallet? Send me your wallet.dat and password, I will show you. wow, you guys are so mean. poor guy just wants to unlock his wallet so he can stake some black shitcoins! For the sake of the community and those interested in Blackcoin, I believe I speak for all of us when I say that your posts are doing absolutely nothing constructive nor are they contributing to the topic in any meaningful way. I think its great you made out trading BC, so did I, however if you plan on filling the thread with useless posts then kindly take your negativity elsewhere. Thanks Why does everything need to be happy and positive? Negative balance is a good thing. Irrational exuberance is also a thing. There are just as many way too overly positive and delusional people on here (and i would argue there are even more of these) as there are the awful negative trolls. Take a chill pill, go grab yourself a beer, and dont sweat things so much, man. I do appreciate how polite you were asking these negative people go away, but honestly feel free to just dont read the negative posts and ignore us.

Or could be in ten seconds. And yeah, agreed on dumping situation, but it's totally expected. Not leaping at it, but def on the sidelines and probably will snatch up more cheap BC. I won't make oracular pronouncements about it's future worth, the merit of its design, or any other inane bs but yes, plenty of play left on this.

The duplicate I understand, but the kernal fail seems a little more serious. Considering outside of the stakminterstarted and these continuous errors there is no other mention to proof of stake in the debug log I'm wondering despite the stake minter running if there is an issue with the wallet compile.

Anyone know if it's possible to use a Windows shortcut parameter to unlock the wallet when it's opened, without needing to input the unlock command in the debug windows?

if you are on windows and concerned it's not 'staking' open up the debug.log and search for "stakeminting". the file should be in the same folder as the wallet.dat and as long as you see that "ThreadStakeMinter started" line in the log you should be good I think.
I dunno, something might be wrong still, here's my situation: Wallet Ver (Win): v1.0.1-dirty Wallet was unencrypted & unlocked Left it up overnight, no stake, looked through the logs and found that ThreadStakeMinter started fine, but then the log is riddled with these: ERROR: CheckProofOfStake() : INFO: check kernel failed on coinstake WARNING: ProcessBlock(): check proof-of-stake failed for block ERROR: ProcessBlock() : duplicate proof-of-stake (COutPoint(cc0e3061f9, 1), The first one about check kernel concerns me the most... So, i've wiped it all out everything but the wallet, resynched it all and am gonna try it again, but i guess it'll take some time to see if it's working....

Yeah you can, but you'd then have your passphrase in plaintext, in an easy place for prying eyes to see.

Now everyone get on board of the spaceship. We'll have be flying in a straight line to the moon and beyond! No need to worry about gravitation or anything, because we just got some new funds.
