I think the intentions of this coin are flawed.  Why would the organizers want Scrypt-N when they clearly posted their intentions to enter the ASIC market?

Long Term Goals:
65nm 50MH/s Scrypt ASIC Development:
We are currently in preliminary negotiations with companies in the USA and France for development of a 50MH/s mining rig. We have a meeting with multiple angel investors planned for March 23rd, and if funding is received we will sign a contract with one of the companies and start development ASAP. We will only be selling the ASIC rig through our on-line store, which will accept GPU Coin exclusively. We have estimated our initial offering to be $30,000.00 USD equivalent of GPU Coin.

Good luck for all those who have participated in a 3% premine-IPO with a coin designed to buy GPUs with an algorithm that's ASIC friendly, with a company that wants to sell wholesale GPUs to fund its ASIC development.

This is a pretty hilarious cluster.  Why can't new coin launches ever go right?  There's so many unprofessional dev teams here it makes me sad.

can someone tell me which pool will be open right at launch. i have been screwed on 3 launches with bad pools.

@dev   could you communicate with pool operators and make sure the launch is smooth.

@pool operators.  upgrade your systems so they are speedy and accessible @ launch.

thanks!!!  i wish this coin much luck!

UltraPool will be up at launch and ready for hashing. The server is set up to load balance and expand resources as load increases. Can't go wrong with the MPOS theme either! Wink

Port? missing from Getting Started page

Thanks for catching that! Smiley Fixed.

Invested 0.5BTC for IPO.
I called for a N-factor.

For those of you don't just because you don't wanna reconfigure your rigs, you are gonna have to anyway when the 28nm Scrypt ASIC hit.

Why? Some of the most valuable coins aren't ScryptN, and never will be.

And ASICs are coming for those new algos. Trust me on this. It's not impossible.

I can only speak about 280x's since that is my expertise, and I have owned many of them.
NOTHING was more solid than the Asus direct CU top 280's, not MSI, not Sapphire..Maybe
previous Asus products were not as good, but the cooler on the CU is the best as well as

I guess it falls under YMMV.  I ordered crates of all of them. Literally all brands and models. I kept what worked best under linux. I tracked settings, power use, etc, from underclocked/stock/overclocked. ASUS faired average among them. Sapphire and MSI always came out on top, with MSI being the most stable (less than 0.1% flux) and TOXIC was next in line with about 1% flux. And I'm not sure about "previous", I'm talking in the past 2 months.

the chips being cherry picked for the top line.  And are you kidding? Asus direct CU top 280's
are NEVER in stock ANYWHERE online for more than 2 seconds.

Really? Because amazon has a few hundred which they've had for the past 50 days. And newegg has them. Just checked.

Unless folks dont buy from those places Roll Eyes

Every pool does the best they can to get up as quickly and safely as possible. None of us can guarantee we will be up first. The best thing to do is pre-register at pools of your choice so that as soon as pools announce they are up -- pick one and go!

While both sides have good points, there was more support for Scrypt-N based on the fact that this coin may just get kicked hard on launch AND we want to maintain longevity instead of a simple pump and dump.  Thanks to all the community members who spoke for what they wanted, and thanks to all the IPO investors for the great feedback on the kind of future we want to create.

I have contacted the developer of BAMT and offered him BTC to develop a scrypt-n version, which I personally use for my two mining rigs.

The windows compiled QT and the source will all be available 2~3 hours prior to launch in password protected 7zip files.

There will be 1,000,000 bounties for for MAC and Linux wallets so we can get those up ASAP after launch.

All the pool owners, please PM me so that I can give you a 20 minute head start to set up the pools to be available the second the coin drops.

My intentions when GPU Coin was first devised was to provide a path to future mining, which I had assumed what the community wanted were ASICs, but was woefully wrong.  After many corespondents on the subject I decided to drop the idea entirely.

When a business doesn't know what the community wants it needs to change in order to provide the people with the best support possible.

You took a few-hours poll on a thread on a bitcoin forum about what a GPU community wants in a future altcoin, and decided that was your majority input?

Wow. You realize the most valuable alt coins out there aren't ScyptN, nor are they going ScryptN, for a reason..right?

Due to the fact that you have a large amount of investors, I feel that more coins should be injected into the IPO from the 150,000,000 for bounties and payment for future development. It appears that large investors, such as myself, are losing out on our investments due to smaller investors.  If other investors disagree with this statement I will delete this post.  I understand you need coins for bounties but 150,000,000 seems extreme.

I took input, then did research on my own.  Nothing is valuable until people put value on it.  I personally think diamonds are expensive chunks of broken dreams, but that doesn't stop people from paying tens of thousands of dollars for them.

You cite not wanting a bad launch, but changing things up in the 13th hour isn't good. Obviously I think it's a bad move, but it's your coin, and that's fine. We'll see how it goes. Hope it launches well.

What is this... a license to pre-mine?

Probably a good idea to make initial block rewards 0, or something small.... that'll give everyone a fair chance.  Simple if statement in GetBlockValue can do wonders..

Just a heads up. Giving pools code b4 time not only means that no one can solo. It's also a guarantee of a fork fest. Been plenty of promising new altcoins coins ruined lately by doing that shit. You should release source code password 5 minutes AFTER regular QT if anything.

The point of releasing the source code to pools is so they're ready to roll. Holding the passwords would prevent that. The other points about forking are also valid, but remember guys, you chose ScryptN. Very few farms out there with it right? Roll Eyes

I think you have made the right choice to preserve the longevity of this coin. Imo people who don't want to setup scrypt-n are just the lazy type and looking for a quick pump and dump. We as a community and IPO holders want this coin to soar. I support this dev team and the work they have done up to this point looking out for the best interest of this coin.

Cheers

I'm an IPO myself, and know the coin would work fine with Scrypt. Like many other coins. Litecoin sound familiar?
