also tried dragging wallet.dat into appdata of crapples.
seems as if I still have zero in my crapples wallet.

Try to start your wallet with parameter -salvagewallet

if you have backed up your old wallet.dat, delete all files in appdata folder copy your old wallet.dat into it and start crapples-qt.exe again. It should reload the complete chain and you will see your coins.

ok, so its still the same, but I have noticed that im now getting 2 wallet.dat files
one which I imported from cryptoapples and the crapples one,
 which crapples keeps loading its own wallet.dat file on each opening of the wallet.  obviously im doing something wrong.

I have deleted cryptoapples only backed up wallet and saved wallet.dat
also moved my wallet.dat into crapples.
after that the rest I explained

if there is no wallet.dat file in the folder, an empty one will be generated. You can not have two files with the same name in one folder. Close the wallet, maybe the process is still running, kill it. Delete the empty wallet.dat and replace it with your old one. Start the exe again.
