Is there going to be an OSX 10.6.x version of the wallet? I've noticed a lot of devs aren't including support for older OSX versions, and I don't want to invest in the IPO if I'm not going to be able to create a wallet...

Our OSX wallet has been tested on Mavericks.  Not sure if it works with such an old version of OSX.  Could you please confirm whether it's a 32bit or 64bit OS?

We'll see about getting a build for that version and we'll PM you back.

keccak512: The recent issue with StackCoin (IPO coin, but I doubt coin ever existed and was never released, and "dev" actually had the audacity to post a gif implying he's celebrating with the 69.5BTC he collected) is going to affect HeavyCoin in one way or another... Having an escrow would greatly increase people's trust Smiley

The dev of this coin has a reputation to uphold and a lot of people know him from what i have read. Their site is very organized and everything is laid out perfectly, i wouldn't be scared of this being a scam. Stackcoin however had scamcoin written all over it.

I agree with you but always good to have measures put into place Smiley. Yeah StackCoin was a joke, glad I didn't put a single satoshi in.

Yeah, that's very sad about Stacked.  To be fair, it did seem like a hyped-up copy and paste with no apparent development behind it.  So, it seemed quite dodgy and risky, but we are still shocked that they did not release something, even the copy and paste!  That was just mean and wicked.

Some differences with Heavycoin
  • Introduces some contributions and innovations
  • Has a relatively small IPO basket and more focused on mining
  • Engaged developers
  • Huge amount of details and description (the About section of our website is effectively our whitepaper)

I think you can get a good feel for what is behind this project by reading through the full thread.  It's not too long yet.

I guess you didn't look at our website yet.  There are screenshots here: http://heavycoin.github.io/voting.html and here http://heavycoin.github.io/mining.html

Here you can see the UI changes specifically related to Heavycoin, which could not have come from any other project.  (Note: block reward shows as 2048 because we set it to a higher value to make some of our tests run faster).

We're going to create a demonstration video showing the working software.

If you're still not comfortable with the IPO, then fair game-- just wait for the mining launch or claim a bounty afterwards.

Not at the moment, would you like to?  German is important.

Are you fluent?  How long will it take you?

Also, follow-up question:

Any idea on when you'll hit exchanges? Do you guys have your sights on any? Made any arrangements?

To be honest, we have not been focusing on this.  It's still early days and there are so many other high priority tasks in hand.

Our view on "getting HVC onto an exchange" is this--- if you build something innovative then it will find its way onto an exchange by itself more quickly.  While we think this is highly probable, also we could be wrong.  So we are ready to do whatever is necessary to get HVC onto multiple exchanges following the launch.  We already have bounties in place for promoting this.  On the development side, we will work with the exchanges on any integration related development that may be required, though we are not aware of anything.

We think that based on innovation, Heavycoin will get onto an exchange sooner and easier than many other altcoins.  We have not made any specific arrangements.  Sights would be set on Cryptsy.  Overall though, we want HVC to be available on multiple exchanges with good reputations.

Apparently poloniex.com is supposed to favor innovative coins--- a winning strategy IMHO.  Perhaps this means HVC would be qualified to be listed there more easily.  In any case, exchanges do well to listen to what "the people" say, so we encourage you to inquire about HVC at your favorite exchanges.

Easy. How to. Windows

1. Go to folder where you save genkeys.exe.
2. Right-click on it while holding the Shift key
3. Select Open command window here
4. In cmd.exe enter: genkeys.exe > keys.txt
5. Then open a keys.txt file.

OK, so I'm a very small time miner.
What do I need to do to get ready for the launch?

Do I go here >> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=55038.0 and get the best suited? Or will there be a custom miner released in time?

Thanks,

Tim
