given that the first 100 blocks are zero reward do you guys reckon i should bother pursuing solo mining to start with? my pc is 2x 12 core e5 xeons, dont sure if it will be worth solo, any advice much appreciated.

Thanks

Same resources here, i'll try by pool since the very beginning , my personal choice

why are you going to try pool if you don#t mind me asking?

Can Heavycoin be mined with minerd.exe, when mining other coins, I've used the following in my batch file:

minerd.exe -a scrypt -o stratum+tcp://stratum01.pool.com:3333 -u user -p password

Is it the same for Heavycoin, or will it require different switches?

Can someone tell me whats special about this coin ? I dont see it.

3 main innovations:

1: new hashing thats designed to be anti asic and more secure (blends different encryption algo's)
2: miners vote on block rewards
3: improvement on the gravity well difficulty adjustment (you dont need a block solved to retarget difficulty).

Now you can judge if you think the above is special - but IMO its better than most of the copy coins.  Of course this all assumes it launches and delivers as promised.

There are too much  interest in this coin ,so much processing power out there ready to fire, to be honest my resources are not too big and , plus the first 100 empty blocks, everyone is going to be ready to mining when the first coins appear.

Hashrapid is a SCAM POOL, please remove it from your launch.

+1  Hashrapid is a complete scam. They never paid out any of my MINT...

They have taken 10's of thousands of MINT from me. Will never go back.

Heavycoin has been added to

The CPU Coin List

The CPU Coin List is a sortable page of alternate cryptocurrencies that can be mined on your CPU. Here is the CPU Coin List thread on Bitcointalk.

If you have any corrections or additions, just reply in the thread.

Plus there is a solid initial value cause the IPO,Investors gonna try increase value and maybe limit the reward in the block

I will be using CPUminer.  Is this the right information for the Windows batch file?

minerd.exe -a scrypt -o stratum+tcp://stratum01.pool.com:3333 -u user -p password

or should it be:

minerd.exe -o stratum+tcp://stratum01.pool.com:3333 -u user -p password

In addition to mining (and voting) with the GUI wallets, you can use an external miner.  For that, we've created a Heavycoin fork of cpuminer.

Code:
Usage: minerd [OPTIONS]
Options:
-a, --algo=ALGO       specify the algorithm to use
                          scrypt    scrypt(1024, 1, 1) (default)
                          sha256d   SHA-256d
                          heavy     Heavycoin hash
  -v, --vote=VOTE       block reward vote
-m, --trust-pool      trust the max block reward vote (maxvote) sent by the pool

More info: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=470391.msg5537068#msg5537068

=>
Code:
minerd.exe -a heavy -o stratum+tcp://stratum01.pool.com:3333 -u user -p password

It will most likely be something like this:

Code:
minerd.exe -a heavy -o stratum+tcp://stratum01.heavycoinpool.com:3333 -u user -p password

Note the -a heavy ... Heavycoin does not use scrypt - rather it's own hashing function, and a SPECIAL CPU miner will be provided for this!

Come join #HeavycoinPOOL chat if you got any further questions Smiley

Very true just think 1 block from solo mining may make it worth it.
