I very concur with you, blockchain is the principle motivation behind why digital currency was created.It would be difficult to fight with bitcoin on the best place however there are loads of altcoins being made with their own blockchain so it is conceivable that bitcoin can be supplant.

No cryptocurrency cannot stand without Bitcoin because bitcoin rule the cryptocurrency if there is no bitcoin no one will be billionaire or no one can earn big in this industry. For me no one can replace the place of the crypto in the market and there are no other coins that can be like the crypto and they can't get the ttebtion of the investors to invest their coins. Yes, crypto currency will stand even without bitcoins. But as we see bitcoins leading the altcoins just like ethereum. Bitcoins will remain but it will be replaceable, and I think as long as the whales of bitcoins or manipulating the price are there bitcoins will still remain to the top.

Very possible to happen! This will happen very soon. Take a look at new prospective coins in the market. They are much better than bitcoin in a lot of aspects. IF bitcoin will not change some of its features. Then, most probably they will surpass BTC.

Bitcoin will still exist and if you are concerned about energy, altcoin also experiences the same thing. That's different from tokens that already have supply. While Altcoin and Bitcoin have similarities and the only difference is the market share owned by them. Bitcoin currently has a very large transaction volume and if seen, this can be used as a benchmark that Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency that has very high popularity.
