Wow, my hashrate doubled after updating to the newest CCminer. Is there a difference between the groestl algorithm and myriad-groestl algorithm? I want to setup a MYR-gr pool but don't know how to configure it. Please help
P2pool or traditional pool? And can you give some stats on your hardware/hashrates? If it's really a huge jump it might justify me switching to groestl myself And yes, the Myr-Groestl is a little different than the regular Groestl algorithm (Not exactly sure what makes them different though). p2pool, been entertaining the idea of starting a mining pool, but definitely need someone more experienced than me to help. I am mining on a single Geforce GTX 750. Prior to the CCMiner upgrade, my hashrate was about 5,500 khash/s now I am getting 10500 khash/s. I have been averaging about 300 MYR/day

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

myr-groestl is groestl + sha256, groestl is groestl groestl sha256 takes nearls no time, thats why myr-groestl hashrate is 2x groestl hashrate
keep in mind that the faster groestl alsi means higher power consumption
what is the most efficient algorithm to mine on GPU ... qubit ? atm qubit has lowest power consumption. it could change if someone developes more optimized miner for qubit. thats what happened with myr-groestl. myr-groestl was same power consumption like qubit before ccminer 1.2

If so then I think I can spare mine for mining groestl Nvm, I just did the calculations for qubit, and for the GTX 750 TI it's double the return of groestl... See for yourself: https://cointweak.com/calculator/coin/myr/groestlhttps://cointweak.com/calculator/coin/myr/qubit(I think you need to type the values in yourself because it doesn't save... The hashrate for qubit is 3.3 MH/s on sgminer, stock clock rate (My pci-e slot is only x8 so I'm not sure if that affects it if you have a full x16 slot) But if you still want to, we can try setting up our own p2pool network, but I just have to set up the github repo (easy to do) then I can link you to the guide I use, along with some comments of mine that help you with configuring the VM. There doesn't appear to be any hash on Ahmed's network anyhow. Might be fun mining with you, but we'd need to recruit some more groestl miners so we could lower the variance (I have bad luck solo mining). You could also use the guide to set up your own qubit node instead, or you could mine with me on stratum+tcp://birdspool.no-ip.org:5567. Whichever's easier (or more fun) for you. Edit: Use the 24 hr difficulty for those calcs. Makes it more realistic

"Very nice article, much identification with the ideals and attitudes expressed. This community seems to have some distinct advantages over most: honorable ideals, a great deal of purposefully motivated collective intelligence, and cohesion based on a shared desire to see integrity and fairness rewarded in the long run. Insofar as this aligns with the field-leveling zeitgeist of the emergent decentralized technological paradigm, if we continue to attract like-minded participants and contributors I strongly suspect Myriad's ultimate place among altcoins will echo the fable about the steadfast tortoise and the lazy hare."
A very well-spoken reply to the blog entry I posted earlier. Kudos to /u/iofthebeholder on /r/myriadcoin.

Meat_body_soul had the same issue, and redownloading the miner from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=475795.0 fixed it for him Also, I don't think tweaking settings has much of an effect for qubit, but don't quote me on it. I think it's the intensity that matters most... I never really got around to playing with it in-depth though. Oh and the number of threads is pretty important too. You can try 4, but I think 2 are better for the TI.

Anyone have any good suggestions for scrypt pools? nut2pools keep giving me rejects and it seems like all the other scrypt pools on the OP are pretty barren.

I noticed some rejects on nut2pools as well, and I figured it was my miner dying or something. Thanks for mentioning this, I'll have the scrypt p2pool rolled out tomorrow. I'll be putting my 383 KH/s on it... Not much but it's a start. In a week or two we should be getting 50 MH/s from iamphoenix1. How much hash do you have, if you don't mind me asking?

os ? precompiled version or self compiled ? latest driver ? settings ? answer those and I might be able to help OS: win 8.1 x64 Precompiled win version from 1gh driver 14.1 (can't get higher than that, tried several times) Setting: "intensity" : "8", "lookup-gap" : "2", "thread-concurrency" : "8192", "gpu-engine" : "1030,1030,1030,1030,1030", "gpu-memclock" : "1500,1500,1500,1500,1500", "gpu-fan" : "0-85", "gpu-powertune" : "0", "temp-cutoff" : "85", "temp-overheat" : "80", "temp-target" : "75", "api-mcast-port" : "4028", "api-port" : "4028", "api-listen" : true, "api-allow" : "W:127.0.0.1,W:192.168.1.0/24", "auto-fan" : true, "expiry" : "120", "gpu-dyninterval" : "7", "gpu-threads" : "2", "no-pool-disable" : true, "queue" : "1", "scan-time" : "10", "temp-hysteresis" : "3" Hope this helps. This new settings am currently trying today hopefully okay. I just changed the eng and mem and changed personalization skin to high contrast instead of aero (to not strain the cards)

This new settings am currently trying today hopefully okay. I just changed the eng and mem and changed personalization skin to high contrast instead of aero (to not strain the cards) "intensity" : "11", "lookup-gap" : "2", "worksize" : "64", "thread-concurrency" : "8192", "gpu-engine" : "1050,1050,1050,1050,1050", "gpu-memclock" : "1000,1000,1000,1000,1000", "gpu-fan" : "0-85", "temp-cutoff" : "85", "temp-overheat" : "80", "temp-target" : "75", "auto-fan" : true, "expiry" : "120", "gpu-threads" : "2", "queue" : "1", "scan-time" : "10"
Try that. unless you're using the api to remote control your miners I don't recommend using the extra settings. what I did is higher clock lower mem because mem is nearly irellevant on skein gr0stl and qubit, up intensity and set worksize. Your cards should hash faster and cooler now, let's see if they still crash. So unless it crashes due to high temps this won't help very much. I presume it's a driver error.

Great! Gonna switch my two gridseeds over now. Been mining here: http://myr.nut2pools.com/and they play like a dinging sound everytime the pool finds a block, which is like every twenty minutes. Wtf? Who does that? Took me a while to figure out what was even doing it because the little speaker only shows up on chrome for like a second. Thanks for getting p2pool up
