Right.You have to be cautious in choosing the coins you want to invest.Not just cheap alone,you also need to study those coins and make sure that you have chosen those highly potentials that will surely give you good returns when the market is heading to a bull run already or simply recover its price.

Emotion and Psychological problems would be your main enemy when you do see a downtrend market. Instead you are seeing this as an opportunity then most people do view out on other way which they do lose up confidence instead rather than on buying cheap coins and thinking up to accumulate and be ready on the next bull run. I cant blame people to think up this way because crypto market is way too volatile and unpredictable but we cant really avoid the fact that there would be always a price increase.

Shorting through margin is always a viable option (trading on margin, leveraged), but I prefer going simple and buying the dip like most people have commented here. There's no guarantee that you're going to make money buying the dip, as the market's been going down since December last year, and many people have lost money since then, but there's always a way to make money no matter where the market is going.

Even in the down market, if the worth of your portfolio is more than the cost of your investment initially, you are still able to earn in the sown market   but this is not normally suggested by the experts and the monetary economists because this helps lower the prices more even more.

it can but the income earned is not large, it's just an additional profit because even if trading when the market goes down it won't be able to get the maximum profit. so the only way is to use the money to buy coins at low prices and wait for high prices.

If you trade on Margin (Margin Trading) you can make money by selling short. It's works the same as buying, you sell and then as the price drops you make money relative to the amount you sold and how much the price drops.
