I cannot sync my wallet even though all op addnode are in my conf file.  Huh

Wait several minutes and remember to restart wallet after changes in conf file ;p

we don't need any more hash power
you actually start lowering it
difficulty will adjust to any difficulty as long as it drops over time and not suddenly like when we had that pool of ~200MH/s suddenly disappear

I agree... it's not more hashing power to that pool that we need but more people mining... If the pool fails or disappears, we get stuck at high diff for a while... but if we have lots of even small miners, we will get the chain moving just fine and it'll be more secure.

I wont support the pool not because I don't appreciate what NatureTM did for us... but because of what I just said... not wise to have a single point of failure.

People, fire up your wallet (CPU miner) and the more we have, the better.  If you can spare a GPU to solo mine, fine but please understand that we don't need more miners on a single pool but more single miners.

Please let me know how to mine with an encrypted wallet, and I will cpu mine!

try and go to console and use "setgenerate true"

if that don't work, try installing a wallet on another pc. and fire that up with an unencrypted wallet, since the reward for mining this coin is basically none this is just to make the blockchain move and you could stop it once PoS kicks in.

Also you could backup your current encrypted wallet remove it from your FairCoin folder into a safe place, and use a new unencrypted wallet for mining. if you ever get rewards you could always send them back to your encrypted wallet's addresses.

to all those having syncing issues... get the newest nodes into your config file, delete the peers.dat file (it will be recreated) and wait a few minutes. I have 2 nodes setup with 120+ connections so it will pickup eventually.

Removing the peers.dat file here could speed up the process though

So this distribution might take a year or something like that?  at this rate were not close to be done at all.

OK.. So I´m solo mining with 1 cpu thread at 10 Kh/s using CPUMiner, is that enough?
Enough for what?

Enough to get the chain moving, using the wallet to mine gets my processor usage to 100%, so the "cheapest" way is to use cpuminer with just 1 thread.. i suppose.

You can mine it with GPU as well.

Glancing at the blockchain, it looks like we're about at ~4000 transaction since yesterday. under 10%... so at this rate, maybe 10-15 days to complete the whole  distribution.

These are juste rough guesses... not scientific measures  Wink

you are right, cpu mining is the cheapest to make the blockchain move, and good enough even if the hash is slower.  More hash doesn't mean faster, the network will adjust itself to produce 1 block/10 minutes... as long as there is SOME hashing power (preferably evenly distributed) the blockchain will keep moving at 1 block per 10 minutes on average.

can you guys tell me how to cpu mine with my wallet?

as simple as

setgenerate true

in the console window

edit: you could also set

gen=1

in the FairCoin.conf file

and restart the wallet

He has encrypted wallet so can't mine by console query.

Or.. use this for your faircoin.conf

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=12765
server=1
daemon=1
rpcuser="name"
rpcpassword="pass"
addnode=54.84.156.138
addnode=109.87.249.86
addnode=223.78.212.148
addnode=89.166.1.11
addnode=80.112.144.84:7711
addnode=82.139.127.205:7711
addnode=24.178.30.102:7711
addnode=98.214.5.223:7711
addnode=95.85.50.188:7711
addnode=94.212.24.127:7711
addnode=88.127.170.75:771

download cpuminer 2.3.2 and make a *.bat file  inside cpuminer folder with these arguments:

minerd.exe -o 127.0.0.1:12765 -O "name":"pass" -t 1

Run  bat file, while having your wallet open et voilá, with some luck...well..a lot you can even find a Block..yay!

then I would bakcup my "good" encrypted wallet, remove it from the FairCoin folder and mine into a temporary wallet for the sake of this distribution.  Once the PoS kicks in, this shouldn't be a problem anymore

It is also possible to unlock encrypted wallet for solo mining.
Here you have simple guide:  https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/1775-unlock-to-mine/
