In an economic sense,
An INVESTMENT is the purchase of goods that are not consumed today but are used in the future to create wealth.
In finance
An INVESTMENT is a monetary asset purchased with the idea that the asset will provide income in the future or will later be sold at a higher price for a profit.
I really don't want to turn these into an economics class but the both definition of what investments are clearly should settle the argument of whether BTC is truly an investment or not.
I don't know what should happen for people to stop manipulating prices and thus strengthening the perception of btc solely as investment. Being developed as a means of payment, bitcoin eventually turned down to digital gold without any chance to go back to its original purpose.. |

In financial terms, bitcoin can easily be classified as a form of investment. Over the years, the world has seen many assets such as gold and diamond which people buy and hold for sometime as a form of investment, I believe the same applies to bitcoin.

the definition that you described above is correct. but what makes bitcoin different from other investment assets such as gold is its volatile value. in the future, the price of bitcoin could rise high, but it could also drop dramatically. we will never know.

Apparently both definion that you mentioned fits very well to main situation here. Yes, we can say that bitcoin is an investment (kind of). Because we started to see it as an investment method. Anyway, i’m still a bit confused what to think about it.

When someone hears about Bitcoin or electronic money and their rise, the first thing they want to know is how they can start investing in it. I bet that 99% of new people do not want to know what it is, they may be less interested in the blockchain technology, and their real-world use cases, all they care about is doing so. How can they make money from it, it's ideology based on greed.

Until the crypto is used by more than 25% of the people worldwide the price will keep on fluctuating and people will take it as an investment. It is not that easy to implement at that level but the goal of crypto is that.

People have an mixed review about bitcoin investment. Some people believe on bitcoin markets situation and investment in it and some investors doesn't like bitcoin volatile nature and pull out their invest money from it and also consider it as a bubble. In my opinion bitcoin investment is quite profitable, although its price is down in this time but still it has potential to give profit to their users. Many companies start using it so their is possibility that in near future its price will be increase. Bitcoin perfect for short term investment. And it has an good history of short term investment profits. |

Agreed, bitcoin is supposed to be an other stuff not for investment in the first place. But bitcoin has a value on it that people thinks its an investment source and this mindset is continuously spreading among the people until know which the proof is the price is higher now.
Bitcoin has attracted huge amount of investors and traders in the world and its price and volatility are the main reasons it has become an investment rather than a good currency but this can make a huge negative impact on bitcoins vision because as the first cryptocurrency its main purpose was to become a widely used digital currency for financial purposes among general public and business entrepreneurs but not a investment asset so if many users continue to use bitcoin as an asset it can prevent its progress in the business to use as a currency |

I consider bitcoin as a long term investment, not for easy money like everyone's expectation considering to new to crypto currency but the reality is its for long term, that's it. Bitcoin may be popular but one things for sure that prices struggle's oneself and no one can predict it, just speculation to some experts. So before putting venture to bitcoin may sure you can hold for long time because weak hands always lose in the end of the road.

bitcoin as an investment. for now I don't agree. even though there are people who think bitcoin is good for long-term investing, but for me it is not suitable. in the last few weeks the exchange rate has been bad. If I have money to buy soda it would be better if I use Fiat because I have nothing to lose.
