Not real.

We got word from the service provider, looks like the sudden spike in the past 2 days has blown the gasket, the server hosting provider is asking us to scale the app, i.e. move it to new bigger physical servers.

Be prepared for a longer downtime this weekend.

Hi Kumala,

Do we have your word that customer accounts have not been compromised?

Thanks.

And are the wallets okay? We don't mind the downtime, but  please let us sleep easy this weekend with some assurances.

Status update:

- they wont bring up the servers due to the high load
- we have just ordered a large new physical dedicated server from the provider, but they cant get us an ETA, with weekend right ahead I worry that it wont be ready before they go into the weekend.

Worst case scenario:  Server becomes available for us: Monday afternoon.  Application migration and testing probably done by Monday night.

That's not a good excuse. Why in the world would you ever host with a company which does not work on the weekends? Why? Why?

Is this why PPC is crashing without an end? I'm mining PPC and wanted to trade to BTC or LTC. Is there another chance to do so?

There are multiple things that need to be considered here:
1. We are purchasing a dedicated physical server. VPSs are usually configured automatically upon purchase. Dedicated server on the other hand are often not auto configured.
2. Incidents are being managed and taken care of 24x7.  But a purchase is not an incident and thus they typically only work Mon-Fri.

Having said that, our platform went from 4000+ visits a day to over 20000 visits a day yesterday. Obviously that was very much unexpected otherwise we would ofcourse have taken actions earlier.

Not real.
I just want it to be clear.

Is that "Not real." in reply to the question about the twitter account that keeps posting right now?

That is not being controlled by Vircurex? Has nothing to do with Vircurex?

CoinBr.com VPS met exactly the same fate. However after past experiences we tend to keep the frontend ready to be quickly redeployed elsewhere, so in ~36 hours it was up and running at Amazon EC2. I do recommend them if you're able to split frontend (the app without wallets/keys) and backend. Their loadbalancer kicks ass, ate syn flood without a trace. And whole setup is much cheaper than dedicated server, at least for hundreds to thousands of hits per day.
