EMC2 has great potential, especially now the pump n dump is over.

A few well connected scientists can procure some serious hashing power from their places of work and such. Just need to hash and hold coins to prevent them entering the market for a bit.

I did mention to someone on PoloniEx that what EMC2 needs is SETI@Home (or Folding@Home) type of deal, where community can contribute hashing power, perhaps in a P2P Pool effect or a donation kind of deal where coins will be stashed and used for growth purposes.

Rode the Black Coin wave rather well .. (don't jinx it now ) and seeing EMC2 going down, so getting a few 10k chunks. Things with a future are the thing to buy.

It seems to me that "Ring" project not something that need to be financed. because it is slightly contradicts with EF statement

I will vote for "The Power Of Ocean Waves", that big and interesting project.

I've been following and buying Einsteinium from the start. I have a science background so thought this idea was likely to gain a great community following (which it has). When I saw the ring project I thought it would be good for people with limited mobility. I was thinking in terms of stroke sufferers who will live long term but can't move an arm properly, or people like Steven Hawking who can only move one finger. When I was thinking about this it was because I had a limp that no one could explain and that started a few months ago and getting around my apartment was starting to get cumbersome.

Last week, after several misleading diagnosis from clinics, a research hospital finally diagnosed a golf ball sized sized (2 inch) meningioma brain tumour on my motor cortex. They think it is operable and won't spread and so prognosis for survival is very good (90%+). However I will require at least three weeks in hospital, a 10 ~ 18 hour operation, and possibly months off work with income loss. And, although I'm only 41 years old, the brain surgery on my motor cortex is likely to leave me with a permanent movement impairment on the right side of my body,including my right arm. But I consider myself lucky to have got a proper diagnosis finally and that my chance of survival is good, so I am optimistic and happy to look on the bright side.
So when I awoke this morning I was thinking about positive ways I can make my impaired movement life better and so was reminded of the ring idea, however I can't find any information about it any more in this thread or reddit.

However I agree with you that maybe this kind of thing is not the type of thing you want to fund by Einsteinium. But not all electronic advancements are about tweeking cell phones or clearer TV's.

Def think about X11. You can use sgminer to mine it so the settings are all the same as cgminer (some people may even be using sgminer for regular scrypt) except the kernel is set to darkcoin. Low energy usage, low heat, low fan noise, and as of now only darkcoin and hirocoin use it. It would add substantial value to EMC2 I belive.

For Emc2 need in near future (before scrypt asic):
1) Asic resistant
2) Easy setup for mirers
3) Desirable energy saving

With this Emc2 will be even better!
