Hi,

We're still getting emails about people wishing to send EUROs or withdraw to their EURO account. While Britcoin does this for many SEPA countries, for 2 weeks or so now we have been operating a strictly EURO site called

Intersango.com

Like britcoin.co.uk, it is completely free although there may be SEPA bank transfer costs. Usually there is a 5PLN bank cost which is roughly 1.27euro to send money which the user covers. There are no deposit or withdrawal fees or commission charges though on our end.

This is the same software that britcoin.co.uk uses and it is run by the same reliable and security conscious people.

Hint: I get this error messagte, too, from time to time. Only in Firefox though. In Internet Explorer, everything is fine. If you get this error message, maybe try to change your browser.

I'm pretty sure you'll see the same message whichever browser you use.  It's a server-side error, which fixes itself each time it happens.  It takes up to 30 seconds for the site to notice bitcoind is down, and another few minutes to start a new one.

Hihi, so now you can easily calculate how long it takes for me to switch from one browser to the other :-p
Thanks for the information!

No, I can't tell exactly how slow you are.

What I'm saying is that the error message is generated by the server when it can't connect to the server's bitcoind process and has nothing to do with your choice of web browser.

Sorry, what I meant is that me switching browsers takes up to 30secs plus a few minutes (to notice bitcoind is down and to restart it). Was supposed to be a joke Cheesy

I just want to leave some positive feedback based on my recent experience of dealing with britcoin (see some recent spikes in volume).

While the interface is a bit non traditional the system has done what was expected from it and I am pretty happy customer. Also a little tip, do not think that the market might look a bit shallow comparing to "big" exchanges. Some deep pockets are watching it on both bid and ask sides. If you want to buy or sell just post your offer at a reasonable price and it might just get filled.

Kudos to Jenjix for getting this thing going. Very convenient to use, particularly for those with GBP accounts with one of major UK banks.

I would like to second the words of Vlad, Britcoin (and the other sites run by the same guys, intersango.com and intersango.us) is great.

They have by far the most professional exchange operation running in the bitcoin world and customer service second to none (good luck getting so much as a reply from MtGox if something goes wrong).

I had a large transaction done a couple of weeks ago, I had a couple of issues (my own fault) and they sorted it out pronto. They also take security seriously, unlike most other exchanges.

yes, I can join what the others said: so far I have only had very positive experiences with britcoin (and the customer service!) Keep up the good work!

One question, though: what happened to intersango.com? I get forwarded to www.intersango.com which doesn't know my google ID. How can I lock into my old intersango.com account and access its funds/BTCs?

Thanks,

sonba
