I don't think he is satoshi, even if he says "yes i am satoshi" it means nothing, it is like if i say "i'm santa claus", ye well i'm not santa claus no matter what i say No, his name is Satoshi. He just might not be the Satoshi. Yes, Virginia, there is a Satoshi Nakamoto.

Newsweek has no respect for the life of Satoshi, if he wished to remain anonymous it was for a reason. This is an example of the press having no dignity whatsoever with the goal of increasing their ratings. We do not if the person identified by Newsweek is Satoshi or not, but we do know his life is at great risk. Whoever he is, he is in a real difficult situation now, and if he is not Satoshi he probably can not afford the type of security that he is going to need. Whoever he is he should sue Newsweek for defamation and putting his life in great danger. I have my doubts that the government will do anything to protect this person, in fact I believe the opposite. I have no words to say, other than this is a great mess created by an underdog reporter wishing to get famous, and she will most likely be famous or more likely infamous but at what price. This behavior of the press is completely unacceptable, I wish they did some more professional journalism like investigating what the Feds do with the money that they create, or reporting on wars what normally does not get reported.

“I am no longer involved in that and I cannot discuss it”
I find the second half of the sentence to be extremely odd. He either misspoke or the reporter heard him incorrectly. Those are reasonable arguments, but what if he actually said it? He could have heard the reporters question incorrectly. Maybe he thought it was about some previous work that he did (which he can't discuss).

Picking up a random japanese geek named Satoshi Nakamoto and claiming he is Bitcoin's father is like picking a random guy named Jesus, living in Nazareth today and claiming he is Messiah.

I know its lame to quote myself... but 'hackers' really love model trains...
Naw, those are just a bunch of academics who don't do anything useful. Anyone search on the web for Satoshi Locomoto? I found this ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7TuFy0fcuwSings... "You think the train is leaving me, leaving me... but"

holy fooooooooooooooooooook! The real Satoshi returns Looks legit to me. I think the age in the blog is Satoshi's real age. 38 sounds correct with the C++ language style he uses. Now of course, Google (who owns ning) now knows where that post came from.

You mean the key for the alert system. He gave that info to Gavin, so there's no evidence that its him if he did.

At least we know the real Satashi is alive. That is good news. We have now narrowed down who he is as well with one person checked off the list.
