Extremely unlikely as the price fell this year from ICO deleveraging effects.   We should continue that excess supply until end of 2018 I think, even optimistically ETH has run out some of that previous expended demand reversed into supply before it can build up to price accumulation.

Presuming vast changes to the ETH protocol dont occur that alter the situation greatly. They are introducing POS and reducing the block reward but Im not sure thats enough to bring about a 5x higher price

your imagination of "standard" is wrong. otherwise if you stop being caught up in the hype and start looking at the reality that has been going on with the pump and dump altcoin you can see that ETH has been performing well according to pump and dumps. it got pumped from $50 to $1500 and then got dumped from $1500 to $150 which is a lot higher than it should have gone down to.

Etherum is not that good that everyone is talking.

ETH is nothing better than stellar, waves, eos, neo, vet, nem and they all do the same (daps and smart contracts) and dozens more. I even think that we have manny better ones. Perhaps in next bull run we will have another daps/sc coin on nr 2 in marketcap and eth will be where waves is (f.e). Thats why hodling is one of the riskiest strategies in crypto market.

Eth is important for ivestors 2016 - 2018 - we know it to be top 3 all the time and its hard for us to bealive that it can be dumped realy low. But 2019 investors during next bull run will see other coin where ETH is now and will think about that coin as we think about ETH.

Just like 2013 investors thought about Namecoin, Peercoin, Feathercoin and manny more.

It may recover but its not certain. Perhaps it will recover to its current USD/ETH price but BTC will give much better ROI what means ETH/BTC will continue to drop. In short term its oversold in my opinion and 30% bounce is economicaly needed but full recovery might be hard.

ETH is just unfinished ALT with lots of bugs that makes its users loose milions due to these bugs.

Just wait and see whether it would or not. Ethereum still remains the most used smart contract platform and even though things are changing with lots of competition popping up, that does not mean ethereum have lost its value entirely or the investors have backed up on it totally.

All those prediction are shittalk. Pump on ETH may happend any time. Just like on Ripple. From .27 to .69 in 1 week (+150%). Same thing on ETH and we have 600$ in 1 week. I do not think so Ethereum can reach at $1000 by the end of this year because its current price has dropped more and more from several months. Its current price is equal to 216.47 US dollar which came after a little improvement as we had lower value of it few days ago. It is not important that what possible price is in future but important is our planning and decisions, if we start investing in it then we will get its profit depends upon price movement.

You are right, we can see from the fall experienced by ethereum and I think this is accidental or market impact, but its fall is influenced by ethereum itself and this may be a failure. I think it is going to keep what its doing, the problem with eth is that the amount of people who are selling their ETH will never got low because in the end when you create an ICO on eth blockchain people are sending their ETH to the ICO owner and they are getting whatever token or coin it is.

At the moment everyone is just waiting for the recovery to start. Personally I hope that prices go up slowly rather than quickly - if they go up too fast, then we could well have the same situation as last time, with a rapid sell-off and return to bear market. i dont think that eth is following the trend of bitcoin , sometimes there is only a co incedent happening between them .  eth is known to be the platform of the most major ico's today , thats why eth has a potential to increase its value because it is back by big companies while btc on the other hand is only back by small time investors although btc did only came first in the history of cryptocurrencies , thats why it got more demand resulting for its value to increase this high .

Ethereum is now in a very difficult situation, but this is not the bottom, I think the price will drop to 100 USD. The reason for that is ICO scammers. And the price of $ 1,000, we will not see in the near future.

I thjnk ethereum is in it's lowest point right now but I believe that it just serves as a challenge for ethereum. It will surely go back to it's normal value when the market recovers again. It will rise again and will give us a better profit. I would choose to buy and hold more ethereum.

I think this is unlikely. 1000 dollars is a very optimistic forecast for ETH by the end of this year. In the long run, this is possible. ETH is still a strong and promising technology and the price will definitely increase, but patience is needed.

Another potential coin to be looked at closely. Small contracts will certainly enhance ether value and this is what is aimed and worked behind by the team. There was a correction in between technically and since then the Etherium value has dipped and still struggling to get back on track. Every investor is closely watching it if the small contract would support  its value grow well and this is what is Etherium goal as well as of now. Innovation of Small contracts is to have ether value growth besides other background work on ETH growth. Need to have ether grow soon.
