Is Ricky Esneault the creator of HempCoin or just a miner?  I am working on a side-by-side comparison of some cannabis-themed cryptocurrencies and am trying to locate the name of original HempCoin developer/creator to provide as much complete information as possible.

I don't know the dev personally but he goes by Tim. His last name is in this article http://motherboard.vice.com/read/do-you-accept-wankcoin-a-tour-of-the-most-niche-digital-currencies, although I can't verify anything.

Is anyone else buying cheap coins? Right now is a good time to get in for another $20. I think $20 is buying something crazy like 200,000+.

Most coins are dropping in price. This isn't just a THC thing. No need to be worried that price is low and this coin is going to disappear.

I have accumulated over 1 million THC that I am going to give away for free through the viral social marketing part of hemp.cash. 100,000 coins made the site viral last time so 1,000,000 is going to be interesting. I'm working on the scaling issue and will try to combine the release of the social marketing with a new THC wallet upgrade.

It's winter vacation time so something might get done. Many people are in university or have full time jobs. There will be some people with free time for 2 weeks.

i think that i would:
create a new address and label it
send an amount of coins to that address
then on the cli put:
dumpprivkey <insert labeled address here>
print the 2 addys on a pretty peice of paper

That would work. The wallet.dat file would still have the private keys though, so if someone got that wallet.dat file then they could take the coins out of your paper wallet.

It's all javascript so you can download the page, inspect the code and run it locally if you are scared of a security.

I would suggest playing around with it a bit for fun. Send 0.00000001 THC to a generated public wallet address, importprivkey and see how it goes.

It's a useful tool for coins without paper wallet generators. It's a universal paper wallet creator.

thanks for that man - i'd thought that the dump command meant that the wallet would "forget" the privkey. so what is the difference between dump and export?

There were some issues on the pool as I see most of you noticed.

Everything has been resolved and is back working again.

Any blocks found during the downtime have been credited out.

Rest assured anytime this happens, your shares are safe and will get credited.  It is always the front end that has problems, the stratum and daemon are always running smoothly.
