funny that you mention Riecoin.. Dave Andersen, a code contributor to cudaminer, has a pretty fast (nonpublic) CUDA code for it. Christian I was just thinking what should i mine now with my CPU`s and Riecoin seemed like next best choice.

Find it interesting that those who claim to have private code, which if existed would hurt the profitability of that private code, would come on the forum and brag about it. Not saying GPU mining is not possible my any means, almost anything that can be computed on a CPU could also be made to work on a GPUs (whether it offers a performance gain is a different story). Just seems odd that one would want to ruin their profitability I also find it interesting that not too many people are selling, there is a lot of coin out there and only a little is being offered. Check depth on https://cryptrader.com it would only take less than 1 BTC to bring the price all the way back to 4500.

Simple clone coins can go up 100x in value but something totally new and innovative, nah, no potential there... maybe if it had a nice dog head on its logo then you got something.

Screnario A1:
There is a gpu miner. Someone has it and mines now when diff is still low. Posts few posts and pics in order to increase interest for gpu miners. More and more to come, he will be able to sell later, so he assumes price will go up. Why assumes that? Well, if not, why would that hypotetical person say to anyone, or even hint a clue that has gpu miner? Thats contra-productive.
Scenario A2:
There is a gpu miner. Someone spreads the news because someone else is working on gpu miner also.
Scenario A3:
There is a gpu miner. Someone is really messed up.
Scenario B1:
The is NO gpu miner. Someone spreads the news in order to dump price and buy.
Scenario B2:
There is NO gpu miner. Someone is really messed up.
Scenario C1:
We are really messed up.
Well, which scenario? OR, is there any other scenario?

Ok, I have seen many coins that offer some innovative features... and they died. I like HVC and the voting feature but some users make parallel between block reward and the hvc price. That's why i called it manipulation.

I'm wondering if someone has gpu miner, why would that one say that to anyone? Isn't it better for him to shutup and mine?

Yes, there is a GPU miner. Up until a couple of hours ago, there was only 1 miner that could reach the 100mh/s and now one has almost 800mh/s. That is why everybody is dumping their coins, cause its no longer sane to mine this on CPU. It was fun while it lasted and some ppl made good money.

lets face it the interest will be back once everyone gets access to the gpu miners, so it isnt cpu only anymore, big whoop, dark coin and max coin arent either and it didnt stop them.

The vote that counts is from the ones that find the blocks. So, the GPU miners control the voting too.
