Raja Bhai,  Pakistan's squad changed for World cup, is there any politics going around it or its just based on recent performance?

Update on Pakistan's World Cup Squad

Quote
Pakistan have sprung a surprise by bringing back pacers Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz to the ODI fold for the World Cup as they announced their final 15-man squad on Monday (May 20). Both Amir and Wahab did not initially feature in the provisional squad. Apart from the two seamers, batsman Asif Ali has also been included on expected lines in order to provide firepower in the middle order. Abid Ali, Junaid Khan and Faheem Ashraf, who were named in the initial squad, will make way for the trio.

More or less same thing happened with English Squad too but it was expected because big guns were supporting Jofra.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

^^^ So Archer was picked over David Willey?

This is not a good trend, I am afraid. Archer was born in Barbados and he played the domestic leagues there. He just moved to England so that he could get higher salaries. Now what will happen if the other promising West Indian players also follow him and move to England? The English are already destroying teams such as Ireland and Scotland by poaching on their best players. They are being captained by an Irish citizen. Why is it so hard for England to find native talent?

Well, nothing new tbh, Jofra is just another name in that long list. damaged already done and it's not going to stop anytime soon.

I don't mind player migrating in different countries but airdropping player out of the blue like this not good IMHO and it's very hard for local talent, last time I heard almost all English players were preparing for World Cup since last year and in the end poof.

Abid Ali, Junaid Khan and Faheem Ashraf, who were named in the initial squad, will make way for the trio.

Well, Mohammad Amir's selection was well expected even before the England series, as Pakistan's bowling attack is vividly useless without him. However, the whole series (Eng vs. Pak) proved that the whole bowling line-up of Pakistani team is lacking experience as well (for example, not bowling the yorkers when they were extremely needed during the ODI series) and some change(s), along with inclusion of Mohammad Amir, were immediately required within the World Cup squad. IMHO, the PCB took the right decision by including these two in the squad, it was very much required.

However, apparently, Junaid Khan isn't very happy with the decision:

Earlier they used to visit other countries and take over them and built an empire and torture the people and loot their money now they are cool enough to accept people from all over the world that has talent in one form or the other, it is a big change buddy in their approach  Cheesy Grin.
England had some good players in the past but cannot find 11 world class players even if we try to check their best all time eleven who could fit into any team in the world but now they have one of the best team around with so much talents coming in and the competition  is healthy.

If I'm correct Stoke is from Newzealand, Tom Curran from South Africa and one more whom I can't remember, hehe. However, this Jofra Archer and those are different though. Moreover, there are a lot of examples of this kind.

Usman Khawaja got a serious injury which may lead him off world cup. I wish him get better soon.

Did India have to choose between Jadeja and Ashwin and they chose the former one? I am missing Ashwin and felt he would stand a chance but he is not playing. Also, Raina has been long forgotten even though he's a good batsman and better than Shikhar. Shikhar did not perform well in the Australian series too except for one match. I miss the 2011 team that had better players than this team.

Jadeja and Ashwin comparison is not logical due to various reasons if we are eyeing on World Cup Squad.

1. Ashwin competition is not Jadeja but Spin duo Kuldeep and Chahal.

2. Ashwin's shorter format career is already finished if we are talking about his place in the Indian team. In a Test match, he's still a big asset for India.

Same With Sikhar and Raina.

1. One is opening Batsman and other is Middle order batsman.

2. Agree Raina didn't perform badly per se but he didn't perform exceptionally well according to his ability. he was a mediocre performer when he was given chance in England tour. as far as I remember his 30-35 runs inning didn't help Indian team's cause.

3. His competition was with Ambati Raydu and we all know even Raydu didn't make into the team due to Vijay Shankar.

Yeah, I watched Ramij Raja's analysis on this. Amir selection make sense but Wahab Riaz looks odd selection to me ( he didn't played cricket since Champions trophy, we all know how he bowled in his last match against India) guess PCB making case for him due to his performance in PSL? ( His Yorker technique etc)

About Junaid : guess its Indian subcontinent thing Cheesy Raydu made some sarcastic comment as well but English Player David Willey didn't expressed his feelings in same manner.

^Raina has been ignored by the team since 2015 and I felt IPL would make a change as not only his batting but his fielding is tremendous. Rayudu had a better chance as he has been pretty consistent but I feel Shankar was chosen based on his strike rate while getting run out twice this year hasn't been very impressive. Dhawan (reminds me of Sehwag) doesn't deserve the opening position as usually he is the first one losing his wicket compared to Rohit and hence he could fight for the 4th position like Raina and Rayudu. Virat deserves 2nd rather than 3rd.

I am bored these days LOL
No ODI or T20. I see one T20 buts it's women t20 which is not much exciting.

Good thing that we have only less than 7 days for the world cup to start.

If ipl is the criteria then Gautam gambhir is most unlucky batsman. Raina was drop by management due to bad performance but Gambhir, despite giving good performance drop by management due to politics. The very same guy won 2 ipl trophy with his captaincy - batting and who can forget his match winning performance in both world cup finals ( 50 over and 20-20).

I like suresh Raina as a person and highly rate as a cricketer but his performance went down the hill in recent times.

Sikhar dhawan comes no where close to sehwag as a batsman. I have already said this couple of times but repeating again, I am yet to see any batsman in this Era who can bat like sehwag in red ball cricket.
Right now Indian team don't have any choice because Indian openers Rohit and Dhawan are lethal combination and best in business. Despite dhawan's mistakes. (he's new ball batsman and can't play in middle order at all)

If you ask me then i will always book 3rd spot for Virat because it's very important place to bat on.  every team wants their best batsmen to bat on this number.

@royse guess warm up is in progress?

Yeah, it should be but there are no news about these warm up matches in cricinfo or any other website.

By the way, I think West Indies, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, England, Pakistan already had some good practice from the recent series they played.

Pretty well said. I think Ashwin hasn't been that poor in his stats but the latest trends of bringing in chinaman and google bowlers into side is what has brought Ashwin career's to end. With time every bowler needs to have some newer deliveries in his armory to ensure that Batsmen don't get prepared with their stock delivery. Ashwin continued with almost zero innovation in recent years which was the reason the "Kulcha" due got an edge who can spin the ball both way around pretty well. Moreover an unorthodox bowling style along with some good line and length ensured that Ashwin doesn't even remains a choice for the selectors

@Royse777 you should easily win your first two bets where I’m favoring Pakistan to beat Afghanistan, though I expect Afghanistan will put up a strong fight. Srilanka vs South Africa is a straightforward match, and I feel South Africa will win it easily. The last match between India vs Newzealand is tricky, as this will be India’s first practice match after a long break, so I would not be comfortable on placing a bet on them or against them.

Afghanistan is putting up fight. Pakistan just lost another wicket and now they are 4 wickets down. 100 for 4 after 20.1 overs. The start was good but since Nabi and Rashid started to take strike Pakistan is losing wickets. Not sure how far they will go. They need to build a partnership.

About India vs New Zealand match, I am too in doubt but I will hope India will win because they are better side in every aspect than New Zealand.

Pakistan is now at risk since they have only scored 262, great century from Babor Azom. Afganistan have some good batsman and I guess they will be able to chase it.
