That means the block reward will get 33% decrease from the previous reward and that should give the more impact to the price of ethereum too.

Ethereum has done very well for the past few days and getting to January 2019 I believe that ethereum is going to grow and if we can buy now I do believe that it will hit $4000 to $500. The hardfork is really affecting the market and last week and this week we have seen great upwards movement.  Some speculators said ethereum will not touch $100 this year again when it fall to $78 in most of the popular exchange some weeks ago but ethereum went as high as $150 and it is still growing.  Remember that investing is risk and you should not put in money without adequate knowledge on how to invest and analyze Cryptocoins market.

Yeah I agree that this Ethereum platform enhancement or fork can increase the demand but it can't rise to $800 after it will be implemented. It can rise higher to $1000 but not instant and this will need the bullish run of bitcoin to drive the market into higher demand. I am of the same opinion. And even I'm afraid of reverse behavior on the market .. It actually happened quite often in 2017, that immediately after announcing the date of an event, the price slowly began to rise (we see it in last days), and 2-3 days before the event, price was falling strongly.
