This week Binance CEO CZ recommended people store their crypto on reputable exchanges... but what is reputable? If you do not have your private key, well then can you really call it crypto? What are your thoughts? Will 2019 be the year of DEX? |

Yes, I am absolutely sure that during the year 2019 we will see a boom of new decentralized exchanges. The need for such exchanges is enormous. Take for example the most popular stock exchange at the moment - IDEX - it processes huge numbers of transactions every second! These are the exchanges we need and the more the better!

Yes i think dex or decentralized exchanges will become more and more important in coming months and years especially after increasing incidents of centralized exchanges being hacked and funds being stolen plus other issues like late deposits and withdrawals or missing transactions. So most of traders and investors will look for secure decentralized exchanges to keep their portfolio the only issue i see with the decentralized exchanges is low liquidity which will hopefully change soon.

I totally agree with you that decentralised exchange will take over sooner than expected because of it many advantage,one of which is resistance against manipulation of volume.

I expect decentralized exchanges will become more popular than last year and hopefully they will finally outweigh centralized exchanges. Atomic swaps, x-chain trading and other technological improvements only help it!

I heard it a year ago. In 2017-2018 had appeared first decentralized exchanges, like idex. I don't find any changes in my trading. The same functions and operations. I think 2019 will be a year of something more impressive.
It may not cause you a major changes in your trading but if you look at the security level, its better compare to centralized exchange since you have the control over your wallet. There might be no significant changes in the past years, but hopefully this year we can see now a more established decentralize exchange that prevent the hacking incidents just like what happen to cryptopia recently. |

CZ can say all he wants, he is just trying to market his own platform, he is good at it. I don't see how decentralised exchanges can pull huge volume this year, centralised exchanges have BTC and Fiat pairs which is very important trading pairs for volume, though time will certainly tell but I see that happening this year

Dex is a solution to avoid such a hacked case, remember when forkdelta was getting hacked and the hot wallet still safe means if hacker can' t even access the wallet. DEX is our future exchange site. No more regulation and fake volume and manipulation. |

DEX offers to people for a safer way in keeping their assets. People who are afraid on their assets to hack should give attention to DEX. Since DEX can minimize hack cases, I am sure it will be prioritized to be the better places for traders. So, it is very possible if 2019 will be the year of DEX.

the part about "impossible to hack" is a challenge in itself, the claim without evidence is a big lie. It would be better if they held such a hacking competition for the decentralized exchange and if indeed they were successful, then it could be claimed as their benefits. I think even the old exchanges still have some issues with securities and we just can't make a trust with a new one. |

Top exchanges like binance will not be at TOP if it is not reputable. What do you think why theyre categorized such as that? For me of course security is the main reason and I believe a lot of people chose them because it. Yes, I agree thay there are advantages using decentralized exchanges but again we hsve different opinion on this matter. Whats yours?

An unexperience trader will listen to him. That doesn't make your funds secure if you'll use their exchange or any reputable one to store your funds. OP is right, as long as you don't have the private keys, you don't control your funds. It's better for me just to hold it somewhere where I can hold the keys/seeds of my wallet rather than trust what he say.

I like to use decentralized exchange because there we control everything ourselves, there is no minimum buy or sell, low fees and fast transactions, nowadays more and more people are switching to decentralized exchange

Most of decentralize exchanges have poor UI and not easy to use. Since the transaction speed is based on network like Ethereum, EOS, there may appear some struggles in transaction. This is what matters to some users. I hope people will have an answer to this problem.

I would like to add another thing to that list. The thing is no KYC documents needed. Yes, it is, users can trade, deposit and withdraw any amounts without any KYC verifications. I really like that decentralized exchanges. I believe decentralized exchanges have a good future in the crypto world.

Well, normally we are using decentralized exchange but lately a centralized exchange firm were now going to operate which have a complicated step before you can proceed for trading , where for me is not in align with crypto currencies . |

The exchange is very much now and some certainly have a very good system. The exchange of decentralization must indeed be safe and easy to transact. The Dex exchange is very good and I think for 2019 this will be better.

As far as I can see, decentralised exchanges usually come with higher fees and slow. So I don’t see how decentralised exchanges will be highly adopted in 2019.
I will not keep my coins in exchanges, no matter whether the exchange is reputable or not. It is really hard to say whether a reputable exchange will get hacked one day.
