IPL business is growing every year and may be very soon it joins English Premier league in terms of revenue generation. The viewership of IPL is already high thanks to cricket craze in India.

The government receives a lot of tax revenue from the IPL (especially with ticket sales, TV broadcast rights, advertisement sales.etc). So even if the BCCI profits are not directly taxed (as far as I know, the BCCI is a non-profit organization), the government benefits in the form of indirect taxes and huge number of jobs that are being generated. And tax rates are quite high in India. This was one of the reasons why back in 2021, the government was not happy when the BCCI decided to stage latter half of the tournament in the United Arab Emirates.

It was really disappointing to see Sri Lanka collapse and get bowled out in short span. They had a great opportunity to score big as 180, but unfortunately their batting display towards the end was poor. I must say that Adam Milne's bowling was truly sensational! He managed to take five wickets against Sri Lanka. As things stand right now, it seems like New Zealand are the favorites to win this match and level the three-match T20I series 1-1.

Extremely unhappy by the poor performance of Prithvi Shaw & Sarfaraz Khan. They both created a lot of records in domestic cricket but unfortunately they both are struggling against international bowlers. I do not think Prithvi Shaw would get another chance in the Indian side after such unprofessional batting.

DC is missing Rishab Panth as he and David Warner were the batter who proved their reliability everytime DC needed them. Such a low score batting first the pressure was always on the DC bowlers. Nortje did his level best but other bowlers were not upto the mark.

GT works as a team in every parameter. This is what makes them an unbeaten after 2 matches. I am again expecting them to reach the finals. If they continue to play in the same manner.

IPL revenue is based on the 50-50 model. BCCI keeps 50% and the remaining 50% of the amount gets divided among each franchise equally. Gate collection and merchandise sales etc are not included in the IPL revenue, this revenue goes directly to the franchise, not BCCI.

Sirlanka batting  line up tried to score good today ans ends up giving a good target of 141 runs in 19 overs with all wickets gone , majority of batting lineup didn't score double digit.
Newzealand chased this target easily in 14 overs and won the 2nd ODI.  Sirlankan balling didn't put any pressure on Kiwis to stops runs or take wickets .

Shakib Al Hasan's IPL context

Bangladesh's top news media "Prothom Alo" has published a report saying that Shakib Al Hasan will not play in IPL this season.

 As an explanation for  they said that since the Bangladesh Cricket Board had already announced that no player would be given an NOC to play in the IPL if the country had any games.  Kolkata Knight Riders have requested Shakib Al Hasan to withdraw from this IPL due to BCB's decision. The reason for the request is that after a player is rationalized, a team cannot change him at will unless that player gives permission.  
For that permission, when Kolkata Knight Riders contacted Shakib Al Hasan, Shakib Al Hasan informed that he will withdraw his name from this IPL. Because Shakib Al Hasan has a good relationship with Kolkata Knight Riders, he decided to withdraw his name from the IPL easily at the request of Kolkata.

You may say why Kolkata Knight Riders took such a decision.
So I tell you Kolkata Knight Riders want players in the team who can stay with the team for the entire season of IPL. But Kolkata Knight Riders will not have Shakib Al Hasan in the team for the full season because of an away series with Ireland in England, that's why they have decided to do so.

Second T20 match between Sri Lanka and New Zealand scheduled to take place today. In the first T20 the match turned interesting as both the teams levelled the score and Sri Lanka won the super over. None could've expected the match to reach such a level as the target score is 196 runs. New Zealand is in a must win situation to keep its chance high to win the series. For now New Zealand is predicted to win the match.

A hotly contested match between two good teams is always enjoyable to watch and Sri Lanka and New Zealand's inaugural T20 match certainly met that expectation. It is amazing to see such a close series and I am sure supporters on both sides are looking forward to the second game with bated breath. While the odds favour New Zealand, it is crucial to keep in mind that anything can happen in cricket and that Sri Lanka won't give up easily. Sri Lanka was very lucky as they won the first T20 match. The overall condition of the Sri Lankan squad is very poor. The weakness of their players both in batting and bowling is quite visible. There is no player in the team who is able to perform well on a regular basis. However, Sri Lanka's performance in the second match was expected. They were able to collect only 141 runs. The performance of the batsmen was poor. Also the performance of the bowlers was bad. They managed to take only one wicket.
