Gujarat played slow throughout their inning, and gave a target of 143 to UPW. It was no defendable target unless GG bowlers did some miracle which of course didn't happen, nonetheless GG had bit chance to come back when they got quick wickets of Athapaththu and Sehrawat but Grace Harris soon took things back to UPW's hands and made fifty for herself as well, giving UPW a comfortable win with 6 wickets and 26 balls remaining.

The final match between Fortune Barisal and Comilla Victorians brought the curtain down on the Bangladesh Premier League 2024 season. This year's Bangladesh Premier League was really enjoyable especially the fans of the two teams that reached the finals were very excited. We thought maybe the final match would be very tough and full of excitement but it wasn't. I think this final match was one sided. In today's match, Comilla Victoria was under pressure from the start especially when they lost their first wicket for 6 runs in the first over. We all were waiting to see Andre Russell's monster innings but he was unable to do so as the over ended.

However, Fortune Barisal defeated Comilla Victorians in the final match to win the title for the first time in BPL history. Maybe they deserved it. Fortune Barisal team captain Tamim Iqbal was the man of the tournament as he was the highest run scorer in the tournament. Finally congratulations team Fortune Barisal and congratulations to Tamim Iqbal for bringing Fortune Barisal the title.

Comilla Victorians won the toss and decided to bat first. But the batsmen of Comilla Victorians did not bat that well. Fortune gave Barisal a target of just 155 runs in the final match. Fortune Barisal openers Tamim Iqbal and Mehdi Hasan Miraj batted brilliantly. Barisal did not have much problem to win, Barisal won by six wickets. With the win, Fortune secured Barisal's first ever title. Many congratulations to Fortune Barisal for becoming the champion.

Saifuddin had to bowl the last over when Comilla Victorians batted and I thought that over was great. When Saifuddin came in to bowl the last over hard-headed batsman Andre Russell was at the crease batting for Comilla Victorians. Saifuddin bowled brilliantly against Andre Russell in that over if he had not bowled well in that over maybe Comilla Victorians would have passed 160 runs which would have been very challenging for Fortune Barisal.

It goes without saying how logical it is to decide to bat Comilla Victorians after winning the toss normally in tomorrow's match. But dropping Andrew Russell towards the end of their batting order was not at all reasonable. Comilla Victorians couldn't get the score above 160 runs by dropping an aggressive batsman like Andrew Russell last and here the defeat of Comilla Victorians.It is seen as one of the main reasons. Andrew Russell as an attacking batsman, if he performs well in any innings, the chances of the team's victory are high. Yesterday Comilla Victorians scored 21 runs in the 19th over with three sixes from Andrew Russell, if Andrew Russell had a few more overs then Comilla Victorians' score would have been stronger and tomorrow's matchThere was a hundred percent chance of becoming a champion.

Yes, the score could have been bigger had Andre Russell batted earlier. But I think, because of the poor performance of Comilla's top order batsmen, they could not score big. If the top order of any team does well, the middle order batsmen can also do well and runs are high. As we have seen, Barisal's top order batted well which middle order batsmen did not have to bat under pressure, resulting in an easy win in the end. Barisal finally won the trophy for the first time. Congratulations to the Barisal team.

I completely agree that Saifuddin last over was important in Fortune Barisal winning against Comilla Victorians. Many people didn't expect it but Saifuddin did well under pressure. He bowled nicely against a strong batsman like Andre Russell. This helped to limit Comilla Victorians to a reachable score. By the way that was unexpected and the performance of Fortune Barisal was really well. They deserve the winning. The match was really exciting.

5th match in the Nepal Tri-Nation T20I Series has started, with Netherlands winning the toss and batting first against Nepal. They have reached 43/2 after 6 overs, with Max O'Dowd and Scott Edwards at crease. Karan KC has taken two wickets so far, those of Michael Levitt and Sybrand Engelbrecht. The Dutch have made good recovery, after being reduced to 4/2 in the first over. But the big battle is going to happen when the Nepali spinners start their spell. If the Comilla Victorians team could have performed well by protecting the wicket from the start, then there was definitely a chance of winning this match. But they did not give good batting performance, basically Liton Das and Tawheed Hridiya were in batting form, they performed well in other matches but did not perform well in this match. Especially the bowling performance of Comilla Victorians team is also bad, already Fortune Barisal team has won the trophy with good bowling and batting performance. Barisal team players are smart and experienced they came at the last minute and won based on intelligence and strategy.

Yeah. GG are almost out thanks to back to back losses while the remaining teams won atleast once. Their next match is a do or die match. Grace Harris and Deepti are a great finishing combo for the UPW.

It's good to see the competition heating up between MI, DC, UPW and RCB. Let's see what happens.

At one stage Karachi Kings are ahead of Quetta Gladiators because they have lost 5 main wickets in under 90 runs, but the partnership of 6th wickets S. Rutherford and A. Hosein is match-winning for Quetta Gladiators.
Quetta Gladiators winning the toss bowling first is a good decision they successfully restricted Karachi Kings to under 170 runs. From Karachi Kings James Vince played a good inning of 37 runs in just 25 balls and at the end Mohammad Nawaz shown some good hitting scored 28 runs from just 19 balls. Akeal Hosein with the bat and bowl is very impressive and helped Quetta Gladiators to win this match

Karachi Kings were in the game till Sherfane Rutherford and Akeal Hosain came to the crease for batting. Together they both scored 80 runs and make it possible for QG to grab 4th victory of this tournament. Sherfane Rutherford was man of the match for his match winnings 58 runs. KK and QG have played 2 games against each other and surprisingly both games were decided on very last ball of the game. On points table, QG are at number 2 after Multan Sultans. 

Just a wait of some minutes then we will see Babar Azam in action, if you know in the last match of Peshawar Zalmi, Babar Azam hit a century against Islamabad United (The team that elected Babar Azam in the first season of PSL.)

The target could be less but there is 50 runs partnership between Timm van der Gugten and Roelof van der Merwe towards the end. Nepal so far has lost 2 wickets while chasing the target. 86 runs are required in 15 overs and it's not be a big deal in T20. Seeing the batting performance of Nepal the game is still very much balanced between both teams.

It is natural to say that most of the players who regularly play in the Bangladesh national team have played with great fortune and more players in the national team means that the team will do well in this type of tournament. Barisal bought good quality players and these good quality players performed well on the field due to which Fortune Barisal beat all other strong opponents and won the title in this tournament. Fortune Barisal has performed very well this season although they did not occupy the number one or two position in the points table but still they fought hard to become the champions of this tournament.
