Today, I talked to a guy who was at the game between PSG and MU. He's part of the hardcore fans of the club. He told me that if they could have, they would have invaded the field after the match (they can't because there's a gap between the stands and the field) , that's how angry they were at the players. He also told me that the players usually prepare specifically for such games (they stay in a hotel a few days before, away from their families and all) but they didn't do it this time.
Overconfidence is what's ruining this team.
In French papers today, they say that what happened is even worse than the 6-1 loss to Barca two years ago.

I am pretty certain they are prepared for any fans which are planning to rush the field as theyre were rioting not to long ago for several cities in france due to political unrest.
But yes I can understand why they would be in this sort of rage because psg let the game against manchester united just go to merde from the very start. And their goalkeeper buffon is retiring after this season if I do recall. So this was his last chance to hold the champions cup.

I love the turnout of the champion league this season, it's getting so unpredictable unlike previous seasons when we knew teams destined to make the quarter finals. I won't be surprise if the next surprising team to dropout will be barca. Tottenham surprised me, I didn't expect them to go this far. The premier league team are making us proud. Anyone having the same feeling like I am? This season, a premier league team is destined to win the champion league.

Manchester United are doing the right thing and are heroic when fighting PSG. but what's interesting is that Manchester United and Ajax make the same comeback, which is in the opponent's cage (playing away) with the same conditions as well (losing at home).

I am surprised at these last days of Champions League, I thought that Ajax was just a surprise but yesterday Psg lost too in a similar matter although this time the team quality was not of a big difference.

I am happy for Manchester United though but in Champions League before usually the favourite team in quarter finals did win. Now is not the same anymore.

UCL is getting unpredictable, first Ajax now ManU. Though ManU is far better team than Ajax but the comeback from the both was great.PSG and RMA is now out of the League and It's a shame for these two club.Having said that, I also admit that Both Ajax and ManU deserves place in quarter Final.

In French papers today, they say that what happened is even worse than the 6-1 loss to Barca two years ago.

Yea it's very worse because they lost at Stadion Parc des Princes after previously winning at Old Trafford. In addition, they won in the ball possession they should be able to attack and make goals because they have possession ball almost 76% while MU is only 26%.

Andrien Rabiot has been known to be rebellious, that's  definitely the peak of it! I even doubt any team will be willing to take a risk on such nitwit, He really should go learn from Balotelli, regardless of his potential qualities he'd never attain a great feat if he continues in this manner.

Well, this is just embarrassing. He should be fined and benched for many games, maybe till the end of the season.
He is young and this is the reason that he is not cautious with this moves. This show that they only care about getting their money and not focusing on any goals that would make them more popular and get a transfer in a better European club.

Yeah what a surprising result from both matches. Tbh, Real Madrid is the worst one, still can't believe Real Madrid can lose like that to Ajax lol. In man united match, 10 players are injured on Man United side and they still manage to win. Ole gunnar solskjaer the baby faced assassin!

In all honesty, it wasn't that unpredictable to completely fair. Real Madrid has been playing it's worst season in decades and PSG without Neymar hasn't been looking as lethal as usual. While on the other hand, both Ajax and Manchester United have reached top form in their last 3 games. So I really saw the Real Madrid elimination coming but the upset that Manchester United caused wasn't a big surprise either. Considering the form, the majority of the players of Manchester United are in after Solskjaer took over.

Sure, on paper. But sometimes it doesn't hurt to also look at the performances and I feel like Ajax season has been far superior than Manchester United's in terms of consistent performances despite the boost Solskaer's arrival has brought to Old Trafford. IMO Ajax displayed the best performance in the Champions league thus far. Especially Tadic, who in my opinion played the match of his life (Tadic got a 10/10 rating by l'équipe. Only 8 other players in history got the same rating).

I don't feel pity for either clubs, perhaps because I don't particularly like either of those clubs. But regardless I believe it's a very good thing that the oil-money hasn't persevered over genuine 'home-bred' talent. Especially since the champions league has slowly been losing it's magic as big clubs with lots of money-dominated (and they still do) the highest level of European football.

I think this is only for Champions League as there is also a separate thread for Europa League but I think it would be better to merge the threads so we have less confusion.

And before anyone quotes my mistake, I'll be admitting I was wrong that Manchester United didn't had any chance against PSG at their home, Lukaku did his best to take advantage of PSG's mistakes and converted it into goals, the turning point was of course the controversial penalty awarded to Man U which knocked out PSG for good in the contest. There is still a lot of heat if it was rightly given or not but the referee has reviewed it and I do think they have seen something which as fans didn't see.

I had the same mistake. I thought PSG will easily make it to the next round. But the reality was totally different. It's the over confidence that led them out of the league.

They may be a rich team but again proved that their team psychology is  still like those small teams.

PSG gave United all 3 goals pretty much, I think Man Ute will get crished when they meet a team like Barca, City or Atleti in the 1/4 final.

Ajax & Porto are unknown quantities when the real pressure is on in the latter stages.

I dont see any reason why the thread should be combine because the League are actually not the same and confusion will only happen if the two thread are combine. You cant not predict football matches like that and just because the PSG won their match against Man United with 3-1 goals doesnt mean Barca,City etc will crush them in 1/4 final because the preparation will be totally different when they want to face such strong team and they wont want to spoil their record either.
