I'm recommending you to just invest it in Bitcoin or ETH. It's not that risky as we can see that there are huges supports and liquidity in these markets that allows it to avoid sudden dump. Keep away from ROI since 90% of them are more likely to be a scam.

2. Bitcoin.

I will not suggest any coin like others did. I don't understand why you need wait 1 year? Will you not able to use internet? If not then just buy some low satoshi coin between 10-15 satoshi. And obviously buy some potential coin which is listed on multiple good exchange. Or if you able to use internet then don't need to hold for year. Just sell when you will have 20-50% profit and wait for buy once again or move on other coin.

That amount should be invested in exchanges. Exchanges are now doing quite well and it is bringing a lot of benefits to the economy.
IEO projects are really successful in selling tokens at trading floors. You can buy tokens of some potential projects or you can buy coins of exchanges to hold.

Your capital is good enough to invest in your chosen coin/s. If I were to invest my $1k, I will go all in for bitcoin because its the top coin and well-established. Its the best option for me since btc is good for long term hodling. I would suggest you that, if you want to invest in a coin that will yield you slow and steady profit, then always go for stable coins.
As you said you will look after the profit after a year then it's best to choose on the reliable coin available in the market. Moreover it's your own choice to choose whatever coin you like, but choosing a stable coin also yield you in loss as no one can exactly predict the price of the holy coins.
Moreover you also said that 1000 bucks is not a big deal for you, so you can freely invest in any coin you want without any tension.
If you want to consider my opinion , then i will say you to invest in ETH. It has equal chance to grow or equally fall.

Yes, Bitcoin and Litecoin both are good choices. The reason behind why do I call them good choices is their low market prices. Remember that a low market price has always been instrumental in giving great returns and imparting great values to your portfolios. ETH along with Bitcoin is another good coin I think you should consider.

It is always good to have diversified portfolios. But, I personally feel no other cryptocoin may match the ROI of what bitcoin could bring to us still for sticking with investment's basic principles, we may need to go for diversifying.

In crypto currency it is very good chance to buy at low price, bitcoin is my first priority to buy because it has more potential than any other coin, but some people thinks to invest more than one coin then for them ETH is good, I had good experience for bitcoin as it changes price every year, in 2017 price reached higher price then, in 2018 price was down I bought bitcoin and in 2019 price will rise higher again.

I suggest the investment on Bitcoin and ethereum will be useful for you to get satisfied amount that you are expected but not sure you can 100% get only the profit because if you ask this question in 2017 I will definitely sure you can double your investment but nowadays it will be more doubtful.
