How do you define a good exchange?

Most of the users especially me are worried about the security knowing that the hackers are targeting any exchanges that they can hack as they can get a big amount of money once they can bypass the security of any exchange.

Aside from security, it's better that your exchange will have a user friendly interface that most of the traders and new users can operate it without any problem.

LOL there are already lots of exchanges in the market and to be sincere the competition is already too much and you're not going to find it easy, not when there are already exchanges like Binance and Coinbase that are causing smaller exchanges to die off. And the worst part of it all is that some scammers has given new exchanges bad names. People are no longer trusting new exchanges because everyone is now thinking that new exchanges are owned by scammers, so no one goes for it. And another thing is that most exchanges these days are now faking their trade volume, which is another thing that is making people not trust them. Everyone now trust the biggest exchanges only. I don't mean to discourage you though, just saying the truth.

We are basically the ones pushing these smaller exchanges to fake volume which I really would be in support so that they don’t die off. You said it yourself now, these bigger exchanges that are trying to monopolies crypto exchanges are not giving upper hand to smaller exchanges to flourish at all, and to worsen the matter, people generally are also not encouraging these potential exchanges.

You see everyone here and there always advising people to go for exchanges with volume and reputation which we know that they are these big exchanges, but the thing we fail to understand is that these bigger exchanges are even more prone to hacking and security threat because of their popularity.

For me, a good crypto exchange have a strong security and support thousands of assets not included shit coins. And also has a big volume on each asset , so that it will easy execute buy and sell in any altcoins. And friendly users which is cannot make hassle to use and less withdrawal fee and no minimum require interms of depositing your coins or alts.

Base on their feedback reviews will find out if this exchanges have a good reputation and can be trusted to put our funds. Isn't enough to have that security, 2FA, KYC and etc, only it have to show that everything will run smoothly and no fake volumes. Investors and traders are looking into high reputable exchanges that can provide safety and low transactions fees which for me is the right place to stay.

Different people define a good exchange in different ways. It can be security, liquidity, fiat currency support, payment methods, verification requirement or its omission, trading and transaction fees, … the list goes on. Old crypto exchanges like CEX are popular among traders because the platform has been gaining its reputation for several years, it’s not ideal though. I also use it for BTC/EUR trading because it’s convenient for me — https://cex.io/btc-eur. But I don’t like tedious registration. Although I realize that the registration is a part of security measures adopted by the exchange to ensure traders’ protection.
The idea of creating a crypto exchange isn’t new today. Much as you would try, you won’t create the ideal platform that would suit everyone. IMO, to create a good crypto exchange you need your platform to solve the issue of crypto trading in another new way that will endure more value for your future users.

Because it is my first post, I have, at least, to present myself in several words. I am a coins/tokens dev and web developer full stack.
After several years of crypto experience, I decided to create my own project. It is not a coin, nor a token (there is already plenty of ERC20 tokens and coins), it is a cryptocurrency exchange.

There is already some exchanges available on the web, but I would like to build one which may fit to Bitcointalk users, it's why I opened this thread, and ask you today what do you like the most in crypto exchanges, as well as the things that you dislike. It can be specific features, themes, properties...
I want to build a good exchange, and for that I need to know your preferences.

I can define a good exchange that has a good name in crypto industry business in terms of trading.
An exchange that has a great volume most of the time, and huge community traders to their platform as well.
And mostly always on top exchange in the market, just like what happened into Kucoin, Coinbene and Binance.

I define a good exchange based upon its key components. Usually, I look for the fees either in withdrawal or deposits. Those are my personal wants in looking for an exchange, but I also want to have good security because we need to be safe with our funds. Exchange needs to be filtered because it is a tool for us to have a good investment.

Many exchangers that I think have good criteria both from the interface and features and their CS. I prefer an exchanger that has multiple security features and always has improvisation on their projects, then an exchanger that has the largest volume at several coin rates.

Good exchanges need to support the customers on their customers at any issues then only people will t rust it and deposit any amount for trading.

reporting the right amount of trading volume and the prices of currencies also a good thing to be done if they want to be considered as good exchange.

I define a good exchange based upon its key components. Usually, I look for the fees either in withdrawal or deposits. For now fees must be concerned. I have use Hitbtc and it took biggest fee that i experienced. 20 USDT, 0,0015 BTC, or 0.04 ETH if me not wrong. Last exchanger that i use usually max only 0.001 BTC for fee.

but why do you choose to venture into exchange when you are a developer. not quite fair and acceptable. you could have look for develop a good project and link it to a token. that will be much better than launching an exchange. please we have had enough.

For me, the best exchange is a safe and secure platform. I don’t care about the time needed for verification and I have nothing to hide, so it is not a problem to provide all required documents. Also, I am a fan of convenient interface and high leverage.

It will be difficult for you to please the wishes of each user. Some users want “this,” others “something else.” The funny thing is, these wishes will contradict each other. I assume that you will have to choose priorities and try to satisfy the target audience of your exchange. To do this, you need to understand what will distinguish your exchange from many others and offer something special. To better understand the requests of potential users, I recommend reading their reviews. https://revain.org/exchanges/poloniex - for example here or in the section of any other exchange. Recently I discovered an exchange called Basefex. It got supported by notsofast on twitter, so that’s how I found out about it. After one week of trials, I realized that it’s gonna be one of my main exchanges from now. No kyc/aml is one of defiying factors for me, and they pled to never have KYC/AML on their platform. Hope they are honest in their words. We’ll see. Another thing to mention is their customer support. The dude in the chat was really nice, and they reply pretty fast.

I think a good exchange must have a valid license, have some government permission and proof that investors money is protected by not only one or two men. There are many other options to decide an exchange good or not, but i dont think it too nessecery if three of above is not meet.

If I were to look for a good exchange to stick with, I would probably check the security it provides and as I don't have a well knowledge about charts and trading i would prefer to look for an exhcange that is pleasing to my eyes or what I prefer specifically user friendly exchanges that has a well provided security within it.

I agree that the investors here will not like the intervention of the government, and so they will certainly choose the legal exchange as you said, more precisely, exchanges that are supported by countries and are not denied support, and the license will also be valid at that time, without the recognition of the government, the license is useless. After resolving legal issues, perhaps the quality of service is the first thing to consider, a good exchange will satisfy all investors and attract more people, just looking at the top exchanges right now is enough to understand.

Each individual have their own preferences upon choosing their desired exchanges and in my case I would like to engage in a exchange that does not require KYC since I am not fond of giving my personal info. Having a low fees and better transactional speed could be a good factor as well. Firm security, good UI, support team must be active and more.

There are many important things that an exchange needs to attract users such as: liquidity, security, ease of use, low fees, good support, smoothness, etc. But I think the new exchanges are very It is difficult to meet the above requirements when they require large sums of money to execute.
