I have not heard about this ants fight even in my childhood days. What i always played is the spiders fight. I think it's only good for children and not for adults. Maybe in some countries they are betting with insect fights but here in my country, it's not really happening.

I too do not think if such a game even exists or it might be there somewhere but very few among us know about it and since the risk and uncertainty in the gambling is very high, I do not think anyone will go for it. Why not rather go for sports gambling which is way too entertaining and has visible signs about the win or loss.

Moreover, you could make use of your experience in sports gambling to maximize the chances to win whereas even with (for example) horse racing too we cannot be sure about to be winning all the times (horse race betting is one of recognized skill based gambling in many countries).  

If spider and insects bite exist, then there is possibility of having ant bites, but I have never heard about it also. I just know that everything is possible for those who can gamble on anything they lay their hands on. In my opinion, I would say that these ones shouldn’t be categorized as gambling, let’s see it as children game play. Real gambling will not involve these tiny creatures. Like you have suggested sport betting and I can add dice games and other very interesting games, this is gambling for matured minds, that would make one reason very well, not ants or spider.

If you will google worst pain known to mankind from insect bite, you would probably find a video on a bite from an ANT which contains poison that causes alot of pain to its victims.   I guess its because they are so small but somehow very industrious creatures and came up with a big defence mechanism in the jungle.   Bullet ANT (or Paraponera clavata for the latin) I think is the name of the wee beasty.

To me it'd make more sense to bet on people getting bit by the ant then the insects fighting exactly.

Indeed. Although they are somehow considered as pest to humans and plants, their role is still vital in the environment. Distrupting their nature for the sake of gambling is morally incorrect. We should be contented in gambling using computers and machineries instead.

I am really surprised how a country can take this kind of gambling as a tradition; well I am glad I come from a country that knows nothing about this type of gambling. I don't know if there are bets for insects as small as ants. About children, anything can be used as a game if indeed it will be an interesting game for them. But for insect gambling, I don't think it would be a bet that would be exciting, but who knows if later or indeed there has been gambling for insects like that. If that happens, I think it is purely a bet just to have fun while being with friends to fill their free time.

gambling with insects are not done all the times  but they do have thier schedule or time like for example every 3rd quarter of the year but idk if some countries do have the same schedule . i remember when i was a kid my favorite was spider .

This is not a game of joy because there could be so many shortcommings in the game and lake levels as well. This could be I think transformed into a digital game in which a gambler could access to many crypto options and levels of difficulties. I think it depends on how much is at stake. But whatever fight it is, be it an insect or spider, still, I wouldn't buy this. I think there are more fun and exciting games to bet on aside from this battle. It's just, I don't think I'd enjoy watching those insects fight. They're so tiny that I wouldn't be able to tell that much that they are injured, or what caused their loss aside from death. They'll only last for a few rounds, one to two maybe. Chickens are livestock and we don't care what will happen to those since after a fight if that cock lost, then it will be a cooked one. Spider fight is also okay since it's just an insect. This still happens in many countries. I was watching a documentary about dog fight and to be honest, in countries where dog fight is banned; there had been great number of spectators gathered for the show. So yes these things still happen. People bet on the animal with huge potential to win.
