No ICC world cup trophy was shared as of now. In 2002, ICC champion trophy was shared between India and Srilanka. Because of some issue in India, the tournament was held in Srilanka while it was said to be held in India. In final, because of rain, the match was washed out and both the team India and Srilanka shared the trophy.

The match is abandoned. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will split points for this one, as 2019 becomes the World Cup with the most abandoned games. Just to explain the distinction between 'Abandoned' and 'No Result', let me quote Varun Shetty here: "A match is called Abandoned if no toss happens - today will be the second instance in this World Cup, making it the highest number of abandoned games in a WC. A match that has had a toss and then doesn't get completed due to rain gets a No Result - there has only been one of those in this World Cup. The record is two, shared between '92 and '03"

So, in this world cup we are going to see more abandoned or 'No Result' matches. When was the last time we had World Cup in England - Wales? I think British weather is not really suitable for hosting this kind of big events.

Hope he recovers soon. Shikhar was not in good form all this while except for the Aus match where he played extremely well. They are bringing in Rishabh Pant (as per the reports) so am not so positive about it. Rohit has played extremely well so hopefully that balances things here.

Rishabh Pant deserved a place in the initial squad and if it was my choice then I would have picked him over Dinesh Karthik anytime. Anyway, as we say, better late than never. But it needs to be seen whether he will be able to gain a place in the final XI. He is a very entertaining batsman, and I hope that the team management will give him enough chances to showcase his talent.

The only thing lacks in Pant is his irresponsible behavior in the wicket. He gets too excited to hit the balls forgetting the match situation. He can be a good finisher but he does not care that much about it. May be Indian management wanted to give him time to realize his finishing skills. Overall he is a good asset and I would like him to be in the squad.

Breaking news: sikhar dhawan ruled out for 3 weeks due to thumb injury ( in match against Australia) Reports are coming in that Rishab Pant can get a chance.

It's confirmed now sikhar's thumb injury looks serious if he's out then it's big blow for India. And his replacement is Rishab Pant.

No change in situation. Still raining steadily in Bristol. Mel Jones tells us on the broadcast that the forecast is also pretty grim. No decision on calling the game off has been taken yet, thankfully

I think KL can be a better replacement compared to Pant,because pant is like a big hitter can play at end of the innings but as a opener he need to steady the wicket and also keep scoring the runs at good rate so hopefully KL can do that like how he did in IPL.

Or there will be shuffle in the batting order like Kohli opens the batting?

Semi finals and final has reserve day, so most probably won't have 2 winner, this is rain season in England, everyone knew about it, still ICC organised World Cup in this time is so confusing, they must had delay WC for 1 month, when rain chances reduce to low. Next 2 days will have so much rain too, just pray we will have some cricket next 2 days.

  Really I am shocked after 3 matches abandoned for raining.  I don't  understand what is happening and what are going to be happened.   This is not fare for All team I think but we have not do anything against the GOD. Just hope  things are waiting

England have had already hosted 4 world cups, this is the fifth time including 1975, 1979, 1983, 1999.

In 1999, match between NZ and Zimbabwe had no result because of rain.
In 1979, Srilanka vs WI match was abandoned as well due to rain.
No match was affected in 1983 and 1975, I guess the weather was better than now

I had a fight with my manager in the office, since I wanted to leave early. Well... I was leaving at the normal time, but he asked me to stay back for some additional work. I flatly refused his request and he was not happy about it. And when I reached home, I got the news that the match has been abandoned. You can imagine how I could have felt.

Why the ICC is not using stadiums with retractable roof? I remember watching a few ODI matches long back, which were played at such stadiums. If I am not wrong, the stadiums were in Australia and the other team was South Africa.

Nope, no official announcement yet. But that's combination seems logical to me according to my limited knowledge. Don't have any choice except KL Rahul so I am sure he's going to open the inning with rohit.

Everyone knew that it is rainy season in England but the people who are organizing the tournament failed to oversee that and this is by far the most matches that is being washed out in world cup history, the amount of revenue they will be loosing because of this will be immense and the broadcast team is the biggest looser here as the amount of lost revenue in advertisement will force the ICC to have reserve day in the opening stages too.
