I totally agree with you that condition of pitch was largely responsible for this game. If both sides can post high scores, it is normally due to lack of help for the bowlers. But, I think that batters should also be praised for, even in Test cricket, scoring runs still needs patience and concentration. When West Indies were in trouble, Hope and Greaves were forced to take on pressure and they did that wonderfully. Flat pitch can cause a decrease in chance of result but it also puts length of players concentration to test. Hopefully, in future, Test matches will have better mix of ball and bat, so as to give both teams equal chance.
